Heiser loose cartridge boxes
Here's a pair of an item that was in Heiser's line from the 1910's to the early 1950's. They're model 30 Loose Cartridge Boxes-" Made of heavy finest quality California skirting leather, seams sewed with wax thread, snap button flap, belt loop on the back, box kept open and in shape by a flat strip of steel on the inside. These boxes are intended for cartridges of small caliber which cannot be used in a cartridge belt to advantage, such as BB-22 short-25 short and others."
The example shown in catalog 50, early post-war, has a slide fastener, the buckle on the one below is not shown in any of my catalogs.
You could shoot a mouse gun for a while with one of these on your belt, it will hold a box and a half or two boxes of .25 auto rounds.
Regards,

Really Nice!! The one on the right looks brand new. The black enamel on the snap hasn't even started to wear off. Thanks for sharing.

Being on a fixed income, I can't afford the luxuries of leather cartridge cases or nice leather holsters. Not complaining, mind you...but I have to improvise & substitute sometimes...like Fobus holsters. DCooper kindly sent me a wonderful leather holster that I payed forward with an Uncle Mike's fabric/nylon holster to someone that needed one.
My ingenuity for improvising, astounds even me sometimes (lol), as I have made a range bag out of an old camera bag! a cartridge bag from a lens holder & a speed strip holder out of an old phone case.
Gotta use what's available. Beautiful cases, by the way. Just because I'm...frugal...doesn't mean I can't appreciate nice leather!
