A great quality product but very poor customer service response.
I have 2 Galco holsters that I use a lot. A horsehide J frame pocket holster that have used near daily for around 17 years. It works perfectly and is as structurally sound as the day I bought it.
I also have and use frequently one of their IWB holsters for J frames. Excellent design, construction and quality.
One thing they do not offer are holsters for K frame 3 inch versions. I have a pretty strong suspicion I am not the only one in this country that carries a 3 inch K for SD. and not the only one looking for a quality holster for same.
Another item is their lack of color options for some holsters, in my case the Stinger and the Hornet for J frames. You can have them in any color as long as its black. Both look like excellent designs that I would purchase but not in black.
Addressed both issues to their customer service. Would rate the CS between F & F-. Answer to 3 inch K frame holsters was there is no demand for them. Well perhaps if you offered them people might be purchasing them.
On the Stinger & Hornet, yes you can have them in brown. It only cost $50.00 extra for each to order them.
Felt like I was talking to a semi auto user who did not g.a. s.
about the customer service issues I inquired about.
Shame because of their quality but will have pass on them in the future.

Agree. My one custom order with Galco for a holster belt was over the phone, with someone who didn't want to thoroughly explain the customization process details.
Of course the delivered product wasn't what I wanted, and needed to be reordered.
Eventually the correct product arrived, and I've been happy with it.

I love my few Galco holsters, but then I have never tried talking to them!
I don't know about currently but, It was Dillon's policy that all CS reps had to be reloaders! (That seem ed to help a lot!)
But The time I called Hornady about a L-N-L AP I was having trouble with, the CS rep couldn't find the correct diagram, let alone have an intelligent conversation. In the mid 80's I talked with Steve Hornady on the phone, He was nice, but on ammo talked mostly in BS circles, but on equipment was very knowledgeable. But never occurred to him that someone he did business with would flat out lie to him! The thing we talked about was brought out by a competitor a couple of years later! (and were very successful with it!)
I understand you don't want your best producing people on the phone line, but every company needs CS people that know their products and/or the use of those products, college kids on break won't fill the bill, neither will the boss' girl mistress!

I suppose the demand for a 3" holster is below their threshold for the numbers they need to sell, in order to justify making patterns for them. I had the same issue with a different company, I wanted a holster for a 6" N-frame, but the holster I got was stamped on back, 6/6-1/2", which makes the holster at least an inch longer than it needs to be for my gun. I guess they figure one holster for several lengths, and I'm sure Galco would sell you a 4" holster all day.
As for and extra $50 for black, that's a ripoff. Galco does two colors, the golden brown and black. Golden brown (or whatever their name is for it) isn't much off a natural leather color, but black is definitely dyed. Why should they charge more for something that takes less to do?

That was an extra 50 to make one in brown. They only offer black.

I have been using Wright Leather Works Predator holsters for OWB carry. They have multiple sizes and colors available, as well as custom options for accent leather and stitching. Very high quality, but they are built to order and you will need to be patient...

Galco doesn’t need your money. Lots of small-shop custom holster-makers would like to make you a customer for life.
I’d start shopping!

High Noon sent me an e-mail that stated they had all my holster needs covered or something like that, and if I didn't see what I wanted to call. Guess what, they don't have any K frame holsters at all.

I get being frustrated you preferred holster maker doesn't offer what you want, or charges more than you want to pay for a custom one-off option, but I don't see how this rises to bad customer service.
They listened to you and explained their positions. That's decent customer service.

I like Galco's stuff as well. While the customer service should have been handled better, in all fairness, I've run into the issue of no holsters for "unusual" barrel lengths with all the major holster makers. They need certain volumes to justify tooling up for the manufacture.
The fact is that revolvers are just not carried as much as semi-autos. When you get outside of the normal 2", 4", and 6" revolver lengths, availability goes into the tank. I've found this when looking for holsters for revolvers with a 2.5" barrel, a "3" barrel, and a 4.25" barrel (S&W M69). You either get one that's too long, get one that's too short but has an open bottom so the rest of the barrel will stick out, or go the more expensive off-brand/semi-custom route.

I have a Galco Kodiak chest holder I picked up new in package at a yard sale, it works great with my non-scoped N frame.
I wanted a Galco Kodiak Hunter chest holster for my Trijicon scoped 6.5" N frame. I could find them in 8 3/8" but for 6.5" they may as well be made from unicorn hide. I contacted Galco CS, very nice and very professional, they don't make a 6.5" scoped holster. The Galco CS referred me to Triple K which has a scoped chest holster, N frame, 6.5".
There is some outstanding customer service at Galco!

I gave up trying to get anything other than replacement parts from Galco.
My last two EDC holsters came from Kramer. They will make anything that you want, with a choice of colors and hides!
My others, well one EDC, and some specials, have come from El Paso saddlery. When I was in town for business, I got the nickle tour for free! They were very open discussing their history, construction, staff, and process. They don't always have the latest and greatest, but they are fine folks to work with.
Whatcha looking for Tony? I might have one in my stash

Thank you Scott. As you know I am over blessed with gun leather, just don't want to use the collector stuff except on Saturday night or Sunday go to meeting.
Galco has been a very good edc holster for me and just disappointed that they would not have a selection of 3 inch Ks in their line up. Also hard to grasp that they don't realize a goodly portion of folks like brown holsters. Mainly it was the attitude, but like said above maybe I just got one of the knuckleheads. Am not too sure he knew what a revolver is.
I will survive with someone else's product, just kinda like having different brands of tires on your truck.

I have been buying and using Galco leather for 35+ years now.
80% of the time, the holster that is on me is a Galco
Most everything I own is off the rack, but I have at least two setups from the Custom side of the company
I do not recall an issue with a Galco product that did not get resolved with a simple phone call
After decades of using my Ankle Glove, the velcro was getting shoddy looking and the whole thing was stretched out of shape
They had me mail it back and they re-stiched the old holster onto new lycra and sheeps wool and return shipped it to me for a $20 bill. It is hard to object to that kind of service
I have a dozen other makers sitting in the leather cabinet. There are several High Noons, a few TTs, Some Tucker, Aker and Charter Oak. Some Tex Shoe Maker along with plenty of Bianchi and plenty of others that are not on the tip of my tonge at the moment
This is the Internet. I will put money on it that we can find a bad customer service story about every leather manufacturer that has been listed in this thread.
When ever I have a problem communicating with a CS rep, I just ask for the supervisor. None of these companies are looking for a bad rap. Any CS rep can have a bad day and give bad service. That does not make the company bad.
I guess my point is . . . . do not take the first NO and hang up the phone being mad at the company. Talk to a second person and see what you can get done

Galco gear is alright for casual use. My opinion...That's about it. You pay $50 for a holster, you get a (maybe) average bit of gear that will do for a while.
Irony...guys will fork over hundreds of dollars for "Trigger Jobs", optics, fine tuning a pistol and myriad other things....and then tote it around in a contractor grade holster. Never could see the logic. Of course Kydex came onto the scene and muddled everything up.
Guys like Sam Andrews, Milt Sparks, Ryan Grizzle, the Ritchie Bros.....they (and many others) are all backlogged for months on leather gear orders. Gotta wonder why??
All I use is bespoke leather gear. It works and works well. Someday my well being may just depend on exactly HOW WELL it works

I carry my 3" K in a Rodek Leather Works pancake holster, basket weave. I have several of his holsters, and for EDC, it all I use. Rodek has a website.
