Default Idaho Leather holster

I found a box of holsters that I had forgotten that I had when put them away a number of years ago. There is a almost unused Idaho Leather Co. full flap holster with basket weave pattern. I have tried to find out what gun fits in it. No luck on the internet. A six inch K frame S&W almost fits, but the snap misses the gripper by a half inch. The numbers on the back are

99LS
Idaho leather co. 62
R357

Anyone have a listing of what this should fit. Might have to find something to go into this beautiful holster. Best regards, the toolman.

Two suggestions might be 6" Colt Police Positive or S&W 6" HFT 22/32.

First thing that came to my mind is a .357 Magnum by Ruger, such as
a Blackhawk maybe?

Pictures of front and back would help you get informed opinions.

Upon second thought, maybe a Ruger Security Six

I have tried both a Colts and K frame Smith's, they fit perfect but nether allow the snap to close. The angle of the grips cause the snap to be misalined by about 5/8 of an inch out. I have a short Security Six, will have to dig it out for a try.

I finely found what fit the Idaho Leather Co. holster. It is a Police positive special made in 1922. Of course it was the last one I tried. The holster is a dark blood red with the white lacing, long turned to a cream brown color. I think the Ubanks holster business was sold in about 1939, and renamed the Idaho leather co. I have read they went out of business in the late 40,s or early 50,s. Am happy I found what it fits. Best regards, the toolman.

Actually, Royal Eubanks was in business from 1939 to 1949. He sold
to Pioneer Tent & Awning in 1949 with an agreement to not compete
for 5 years. During that time it was Eubanks Pioneer Leather. Royal
Eubanks went back in business as Idaho Leather when the Covenant
to not compete expired. Shortly after starting Idaho Leather Royal
Eubanks passed away. His widow sold the business to a family friend,
Bud Wetzel. Idaho Leather continued in business until Bud's son,
Ben Wetzel passed away in 2016. Idaho Leather is no more.

Thanks to a Idaho Leather size chart posted by SG-688 I can say my
first guess of a .357 Ruger Blackhawk is correct.
