Default Kydex Versus leather holsters

Hi
I know this subject probably has been brought up a lot, but I have been searching and can't find any real good posts.
I just bought my first hand gun , a M&P 2.0.
Feels great can't wait to shoot it.
I bought a kydex osw holster and got it fit and feel comfortable.
Question I have is about kydex versus leather and wear on the handgun.
Thank you

I have been using a Kydex inside the waistband holster for my Colt Commander (04691) for about six years and it has not bothered it a bit. I do like a good leather holster much better but they do not appear to be as concealable. Also a good gun belt is a must and makes all the difference in the world.

Why not get the best of both worlds? Leather lined Kydex.

Default Leather vs Kydex

I've used both. Kydex will wear the finish on the edges of the gun. In my experience leather will last longer. Both leather and kydex will hold a gun securely. I now only use leather. I don't find any difference in concealment, but I only carry IWB.

It's a matter of personal preference. But if leather lasts longer, looks better and doesn't wear a gun as much, why go with plastic?
