Default Hill People Gear, Recon Kit Bag

Like a lot of folk, I like to spend time in the woods. I like to hike, hunt, fish, and forage for chanterelle mushrooms. Unless I am hunting, I don't like to open carry. Where I live there are a lot of very popular hiking trails. We get a lot of liberal type folks from the city (Seattle) on them. A lot of these folks did not grow up around guns, and the sight of them makes them uncomfortable. I have found the Hill People Gear, Recon Kit Bag to be perfect for woods carry. It is large enough for me to carry my 4" 629. It is handy, yet discreet. I made a YouTube video to review it. Please click the link, and let me know what you think.Hill People Gear, Recon Kit Bag. - YouTube

I was raised with manners. I don't like to make people uncomfortable, and doing so does nothing for our pro-gun cause. Also, if you go shooting in the woods. Don't forget to pick up after your self.

LOL...... I got my Pa Concealed carry way back in 1978 so I could carry concealed while bumming around the Allegheny Mountains/Laurel Highlands.

While it's use expanded over the years... I still carry concealed when at the cabin, hiking or riding ATVs.

For off body carry I have a Maxpedition Fat boy

If I am in the woods I probably would not worry about offending people because they don't like firearms. On the other hand, I am not wild about open carry under any circumstances. So a belt holster covered by a lightweight vest would be my choice. That high on the chest carry Hill People pack would not be my first choice.

Bam, tell us more about that pack. I have thought about one for a long time. Details will fit right into this thread.

Your comfortableness has nothing to do with my rights as a US citizen..... as a matter of fact snowflakes are the ones making gun owners uncomfortable and if they are feeling that way, they will never change their minds so it does nothing for or against our cause.

Manners is opening doors, sir and mam, acting correctly and has nothing to do with my right to carry a firearm legally.

This is just the fear that anti gunners want you to have, to live in the shadows and be scared.

Sorry not me.

On topic for the thread: I am not into man purses. Backpack if possible and firearm on the hip.

Looks like very high quality carry gear. I have one of the small Maxpedition Sitka Gearslinger bags that serves a similar purpose. Very durable so far.

I'm one of those "scared" retired people referenced above who "live in the shadows"....so I never open carry.

I think their kit bag might work well if carrying a full-frame backpack with a padded waist belt that blocks belt carry, even though I'm done with that type of exertion.

I've seen video of this product that demo's that type of use, and drawing by pulling the flap corner, with a slightly opened zippered flap down, exposing a Velcroed holster secured inside. It demonstrated it's effectiveness, and happened outdoors, and included live ammo shooting from concealment.
