Default sold my first holster

sold my first holster today. An avenger style for a 5" 1911. Surprised me when he offered my $60.00 for it.

I've enjoyed making most of my own holsters. To me I particularly like the thought that they will out live me and my loved ones can say this is something created by my own hands.
Yours is very good; congrats!

Looks great! Very good job. Your stitching is premo. And that's from an old leather pounder!

Congratulations. The first one is the hardest to sell. After that you can count on word-of-mouth to help you grow.

Good looking stitching on that holster. Good luck in your new endeavor.

I remember on this very forum a man named Kieth Brown displayed some of his homemade grips and asked if we thought it would be a viable business.
Best of luck to you.

I sold my first sight pusher on this forum about six years ago. It didn't look near as nice as your holster, but it worked and was inexpensive. Thousands of pushers and numerous design changes later, they're still going strong. Don't be surprised if you find you've created a "monster".

Caution! Made my first holster over 45 years ago while I was a puppy policeman trying to keep two kids fed on skinny paychecks. Guys I worked with saw what I was doing and started requesting holsters. Decades later, with two grown sons, nine grandkids, and two great-grandkids, I was still pounding hides 7 days per week.

Only way I found to stop was to retire, sell the business (including all tools, equipment, inventory, designs, trademarks, etc) and provide a ten-year non-compete agreement to the new owners. Took me a year after that to figure out how to sit still for a few hours without worrying about staying current on orders.

Congratulations! All the best for the future.

All the comments are so complimentary, I had to go back and check my own holster creds. Nope, still there. Best I can say is, "A long way to go before the OP reaches "Lobo Class"." The wrinkled leather, the slide guard that's begging to fold down into the holster when it gets older? Let's not kill the OP with kindness or he'll not get better.
