Didn't have any "Famous" Holsters!!
What a great place to hang out!! A few days ago, I was checking out crazyphil's latest thread: MAKER MARKS AND HISTORY , and made a comment about not having any "famous" holsters. A few minutes later I received a PM from a fellow member (who wishes to remain anonymous), asking if I had an old .32, and if I did, he had a Eubanks that I could have!!
Needless to say, I was overwhelmed by his generosity. Now my Colt 1903 .32, which many of you have seen posted before, has a "new" holster!!
The generosity of forum members is truly phenomenal.
Also, the anonymous donor turned me on to the benefits of a leather care product called "Blackrock" which he told me he had first learned of from "turnerriver". So after a one click on Amazon, I now have a container of this new to me product to experiment with.
As I said, what a great place to hang out.
Best Regards, Les

Hi Les. I noticed your safety strap is in the same condition that mine
was when I got it. I took it to a local saddle shop and they put a new
one on. ($15). That seems to be where they like to wear out. Just
a heads up. Hope you can use it. Phil

Thanks, Phil. If I hadn't been following your holster threads, I wouldn't have posted a comment on the one that I linked above, and if I hadn't have commented, I wouldn't have been seen by Mr. ******, and I wouldn't have my cool "new" Eubanks holster now!!
So thanks for that, and for the heads up on a new safety strap. I will look around and see if anyone does that sort of work here. I used to be a pretty good hand at leather work in a decidedly amature way, but in the meantime, even with out the section that is missing, if I just slip my fingernail under the lower edge of the snap, it pops open without stressing the leather.
The Colt fits just like a glove. It must have been tailored for the Colt .32, as it is a perfect fit.
Best Regards, Les

I like the looks of it and I especially like the retaining strap.
I bent over to pick up something and my gun fell right on the ground. No retainer at all with the Desantis leather holster for my 640-1. It was a $25 holster so what could I expect? I should have bought the better Desantis holster for $70 that has a retainer strap.
