It's beautiful, Doc. Mike must have been chasing a different one. That one came up on GB and mine was the only bid. 😊
Regards,
Bruce

Great work! I love when a plan comes together. The new owner will probably get another 50 or more years out of it!

Thanks, Doc for the excellent restoration and super quick turn-around. Got it back a week to the day after sending it off. Now I just need to find that pre-war 3.5" N frame that belongs in it.
Regards,
Bruce

Doc, I enjoy the pictures of you repairing the holster, specially the use the knife to cut the leather. My friend, Eddie Bacon, would only use a knife to cut leather. He was once offered a die to cut leather for his saddles but refused. He stated that only knife would be used. If you would ever like to see some examples of his work, visit national rodeo cowboy museum in Oklahoma City. He was named to the Hall of Fame as a saddle maker.

What Doc hasn't mentioned but one of his pics hints at: the old thread is a BEAR to remove from old holsters (last one for me was a Heiser). The thread is linen from that era and quite strong still -- and has been trapped inside shrinking needle holes for up to a century. Hence the needle nose pliers he's using in one pic to pull the threads after the welt stitching has been slit apart. On a Threepersons holster, such as this one, the pistol grip enables an extraordinary amount of leverage against the welt at the open end and those old makers didn't stitch them with this in mind, as the rest of us did later beginning with Wally Wolfram.
