Evolution of an idea (for a holster)
A while back I posted a note asking for a maker for a holster for my baby chiefs special.
05CarbonDRZ replied: "I've got you covered." And, boy, did he! He used his baby chiefs special to make my holster.
He's a terrific communicator and coordinator. It took him a few days to pull out of me what I was looking for (he knew what to ask). Through the next week he sent the series of photos I've attached to ask if he was on track. Lastly, and ahead of schedule, he sent a shot of the final product. I received it in today's mail. It's fabulous (updated last photo).

Looks really good. I wonder how well does it hold the gun in place?

I've been wearing it since I took it out of the box. Perfectly snug.

I had a similar experience with him not long ago with a 1911 holster and mag pouch. I posted it in the BBQ rigs thread.
Great work and communication!

The Brills for short-barrelled holsters used this construction versus what we call Threepersons construction today (actually Brill was 25 years before Myres' Threepersons Style), apparently to achieve retention. The short barrel holsters are often found with a safety strap, too; giving even more credence to the idea that the return to tradition, with the leather welt coming up 'round the hoop of the guard, was for retention.

Thank you for your service. My oldest son just made Master Sergeant. Middle son completed basic in July. We're all very proud of them. [Tried to show a photo of your Senior Master Sergeant challenge coin but couldn't]
