Question Need Grip advice for an M629-6. Stock Hogues too thin for my hands.

Hi,

Back in the day I had an M29 with the stock wood grips. Shooting hot loads did not seem to be a problem.... but the Hogues that came with my 629-6 seem thiner and channel the recoil right into the web of my hand... OUCH!.

I was wondering if possibly Ahrends Retro Tactical or Retro Combat grips might be wider than the Stock Houges in the area that fits in the web of the thumb and forefinger. Maybe my hands that are now 40 years older and a bit more delicate than they used to be.

Anyone else had this problem?

I put Ahrend's on mine and am happy. Sorry I didn't have a pic, but the same are on my 325PD. I don't like the finger grooves on .44 mag.

I have a 629-4 from the early 1990's. Strange gun with that round butt. I keep little RB combats on it just because it looks so darn cool that way. Would never try to shoot it like this. You can barely hold the gun with these grips.
