That holster should clean up well. I like to find them like that and bring them back to life.

Yep, that one will do nicely. I'm going to guess it was for a prewar K22 because of the Heiser stamp. Post war uses a different one. I agree with the OP it will clean up nicely. At the last big gun show I managed to buy a nice black lined one from Bengalsfan. Being lazy I haven't bothered to try to clean it up but I'm thinking on it. I have no idea how to clean the shearling lining, but I'm thinking about some of the spray they use as spot remover.

The problem with unlined holsters like the OPs is that if it gets dirty, sometimes the powder residue acts as an abrasive. I fear the same situation on a lined one. Its why we all need a kind of finish challenged K22 to use for outdoors carry. If the finish gets a little more scuffing, its no big loss. Its a good reason to really look at the lesser condition guns. No reason to damage a really nice one.

Turnerriver and I have speculated that the Heisers with the HHH ornamental snap and rivet heads are pre-Depression, so before 1930. This one has the plain rivets and plain snap, lettered with the name and a (now worn off) enamel finish.

The several Heiser stamps all coexisted at that point -- 1930 -- and appear to have been used somewhat indiscriminately thereafter.

The use of stamped letters for the K22 bothers me a bit because I associate that with the Keyston era of the 1950s; otherwise a typical Heiser (and Myres, etc.) had the fitment written on the backside with a pen/pencil/stylus.

I found it in a box of old holsters in a Pawn shop, I believe I have 10 bucks into it.

Thank you all for your comments and observations.

ALL K FRAMES cannot be lumped together. I have found that it makes
a difference whether or not the K Frame has an adjustable rear sight or
fixed rear sight. A K Frame with adjustable rear sight might fit very well
in a holster but put a K Frame with a fixed rear sight in and it will have
some wobble or wiggle room. On the other hand a holster that fits
the fixed rear sight K Frame well (Heiser 457 for example) will usually
be too tight a fit for the adjustable rear sight like on a model 15/67,
19, etc....
