I definitely prefer IWB. The few times I've used OWB it kept feeling like the gun was pulling away from my body, and that's with a good quality holster and gun belt. IWB feels more secure. Plus, I don't have to worry about the bottom of my holster being exposed if I'm out and about and have to reach up to get something or if a gust of wind blows up the bottom of my shirt. At this point, I see no reason to get an OWB holster, unless I end up taking a training course that prohibits IWB carry.
My experience with holsters have all been with leather, and that's my preference. I can definitely see some advantages with kydex, though. I'm sure at some point I will try a kydex holster. My speedloader pouches, made by JOX, are kydex and are the best speedloader pouches I've tried.

My favorite carry is leather behind my strong (right) side hip. Most of
my holsters are OWB. However I do have some IWB. One kydex as a
matter of fact. It is a FIST 1K. Very thin and light. Very good clip on it.
I carry my LCR in it on occasion. (See below)

I finally got with the times and bought a plastic gun last year but I draw the line at plastic holsters. Never.

Milt Sparks VersaMax II....most comfortable IWB I've ever owned.
I liked it so much for my 60-15 that I have another on order for my Kimber Ultra Carry.

Favorite holster
I have a few Tucker Gunleather. Never disappointed. I like leather, too.

Leather.
OWB: Roy Baker Pancake. A 4" N Frame carries comfortably and close all day and/or night.
IWB: Galco Cozy Partner. The only way you know a J-frame is there is if you reach back and touch it.
Pocket: Owned and used a Desantis Superfly for a Remington RM380 and a Nemesis for a Bersa Thunder. Both worked, but still didn't like them as well as an Uncle George pocket for the Remington or a Galco horsehide for the 642.

Kydex
While it took me some time to modernize, I use Kydex everyday now. Cya supply, Vedder holster and Tulster are all great products. Very little holster wear, holster covers entire inboard side of gun from you, adjustable retention, and a very positive "click" when gun is seated in holster. Love my Kydex..

My best and most comfortable holsters are the Versa Max II. I can easily carry my Browning Hi Power all day in one. Or I can almost forget that I've got a Kahr P9 on. My wish list has a VM-II for my M60-15 on it.

Depends on what I am doing.....shooting in a USPSA/IDPA match usually it is OWB Kydex oft times it is a BladeTech or one made by a friend here in Billings.
Carrying concealed usually it is IWB Leather....most times I use a Kramer #3 or Milt Sparks VM-2.

leather all the way
I use leather OWB for all my handguns. That said, I have a leather-kydex hybrid paddle rig for my 640nd that I really like.

Love Leather!!!!
I just picked this up a couple of weeks ago. Leather outside, pig skin on the inside, and steel in the middle so it will not loose it's shape. Custom made by Horseshoe Hill Leather. Keeps the revolver close and feels great.

I prefer brown leather holsters. Whether it's owb or iwb, depends on what I'm doing. CC is iwb, farm chores and general work is owb.

Like most, I have a box of holsters that didn't work. I prefer leather, OWB, for CC.
I have it narrowed down to the Galco Combat Master for almost everything. I say almost, because my Ruger SRH rides in a Simply Rugged Sourdough Pancake.
I know that kydex makes a good holster. I'm just a little too old school for that!
