What I believe to be accurate is that semiautomatic pistols used by civilians as [primary] concealed carry handgun outsell revolvers by a huge number. As of Wednesday morning, pertinent phrase to which I alluded in the title is "displaced fracture of elbow."

It is physically impossible to cock an uncocked striker-fired pistol or to clear a jam in any situation when a non-functional pistol must be "adjusted" to functional - that is, using an "Israeli" concealed carry or essentially any heretofore fixable problem.

Pistols with hammers and mechanisms that allow restrikes are in a better "personal emergency situation" unless clearing a jam or malfunction.


I have nothing to add. . . . Oops, yes I do. The sling on my off arm completely conceals my LCR in Hogue 715 IWB holster.

Prior to November 2015 when I retired and sold the business the results were clearly demonstrated for several years; 62% of all new holster orders were for revolvers, nearly 33% of all orders were for J-frame S&W revolvers.


Regardless of the newest and coolest plastic-fantastic semi-auto (and there is a new one every week or two) I thing savvy folks will be using revolvers for personal defense for many years to come.
