Default J-frame IWB holster that keeps cylinder below belt?

Is anyone aware of an IWB clip-on holster for a J-frame that allows the cylinder to sit below the beltline (one of the advantages of the J-frame, in my opinion)?
I'm envisioning a light, flimsy suede holster with an offset clip that's quick to clip on and off a pair of pants.

I tried a Bianchi #6 - what a piece of junk! The clip is located right alongside the cylinder, which adds bulk and doesn't allow the holster to mold itself around the gun.

If such an item doesn't exist, by golly, I'll design one and start making holsters to sell.

Check out Bell Charter Oak holsters. I'm pretty sure they have the holster you're describing.

I don't remember where I got this one or who made it. No markings on it. It carries with the butt even with the top of the belt. With a slightly bloused shirt can't see the gun. It is a bit slower for draw but it conceals very well.
I've got another IWB holster with the clip on the rear which is adjustable. I've got it set for a cant which puts the cylinder below the belt and just the butt of the gun above the belt. No maker indicated on it either.

Bell Charter Oak Summer Heat holster does just exactly what you are looking for. Have carried my Chief Special in one for several years. Very secure holster.

I'm also a fan of the Lobo offset clip for my 640-1. My holster is horsehide.

From the picture it looks like the cylinder is in direct line with the belt. That's a no-go for me.

I will second the motion. Bell Charter Oak (forum member Lefty, the oldflatfoot) is the unchallenged leader in designing and producing deep concealment IWB-style holsters. You will not find better quality or execution from any maker.

I am retired so I don't have a dog in this fight, but I will offer a small bit of advice: You may get what you are asking for, but it might not be everything you envision it to be. Everything in holster design involves compromises among the 4 basic factors of comfort, accessibility, security, and concealment. Whenever one factor is emphasized there will be compromises in the other factors.

What you have described might be excellent for concealment with a J-frame revolver, but it will almost certainly be less than fully accessible and may involve some comfort issues. Proceed with these thoughts in mind.

Best regards.

Good advice.
My main factor is comfort, because without comfort I won't want to carry the gun at all and the others become moot factors at that point.

Many good suggestions in this thread.

Having tried a few, including some mentioned, the best I've found for deep concealment, cylinder below belt J-frame IWB is Alessi's Deep Cover.

It's J-frame short barrel only, and sits low enough that the grip is just barely over the belt line; the rest is hidden.

Frustrates me a bit to recommend it because I've found Alessi the company to be slow and uncommunicative, but I can't deny the quality. Not quite sure how they do it, but my Deep Cover has had both the slimmest profile yet greatest durability of any similar holster I've used -- and that's after every day wear for the last five years.

Flashbang "Betty". Very thin Kydex.
I have one for my Bodyguard 380 and a Glock 43.
They offer a model for the J-Frame, I'll eventually get one.

betty - Flashbang Boutique

They also have a model with a manly name (Eliot Ness), but it is the same design.

Note there are two different clips: Standard belt clip and the "Ulti-Clip".
Also, the Betty 2.0 model has dual screws for the clip attachment, and looks like it comes with the Ulti-Clip.

This company - Concealed Carry Pro - has the best prices and super fast shipping. I will be ordering from them again.

These kind of threads never work without visuals. Here is my cobra and my LCR in the galco. The 442 sits just as low. I am giving up speed of draw for more concealabiility but that's my choice. It is comfortable for all day wear. Working in yard etc. It's a sub $40 holster. Even the GLock 26 gets one....

I have one for each my small revolvers and semis. Including my P3AT, Nano, and a few others.

6 shot original cobra:

LCR 357 (442 sits the same)

Glock 26

One vote here for the Milt Sparks Versa Max II. However, the cylinder does sit flush with, rather than below, the beltline.

I have one for my 60-15 and it's the most comfortable rig that I own for IWB carry. So much so, that I ordered (and just received) a VMII for my Kimber Ultra Carry.

I also use my first VMII to carry my 1-7/8" Models 60 and 36. It's proven to be quite versatile.

Would you consider letting me borrow that thing for a couple of days so I can get a good look at it? I'll try to duplicate it myself.

I have a Sto N Go for my Glock 17. I don't use it for carry but use it for my duty weapon for to and from work. That things has seen some abuse and it is still holding up like a champ. 7 years now. It has molded perfectly to the gun.

Don't know how they work for carry though

Ha! Apologies, but can't do -- it's my only one.

I'd be impressed if you could duplicate it, it has the thinness of horsehide but not nearly as stiff, and hasn't changed appreciably over the years; I'm guessing they achieve this through specialized curing.

Were I you, I'd just buy one and call it done. Which J is this for?

How is a holster like that for sitting - whether in a car, living room, restaurant, etc? That has always been an issue for me, probably why I prefer front pocket carry - but that is slower to draw.

Default J-frame IWB holster that keeps cylinder below belt?

I use old Safariland #14. Have no idea how old these are. Buy every one that I can find. Super thin. Sits deep. The grip rests flat on top of my belt. Secure and no printing.

Those are great holsters for the J-frame. Where do you even come across them these days? I don't even see any on ebay.

That's because I bought them all...on ebay

Also, find them in pawn shop "bargain bins." Folk don't know what they are. Seriously, about the best option for deep J frame / Colt D frame concealment. Probably should have kept it to myself.

A little different than the clipons, but I’ve been using a DeSantis Cozy Partner for almost 30 years with my J frames:

Mine’s old enough that it has a single loop, not split. I’ve found these are as easy to take on and off as any metal belt clip.
