Vintage George Lawrence Holster Fit Question
I have a print out of George Lawrence Sizes but all are 3 digit number sizes. Can anyone tell me what revolver a K 6 size would be? I am guessing a 6 inch K frame, but is this correct? Thanks

Yep. K6 should be a K Frame with a 6" barrel.
A caution however. All K Frames are not the same.
If it has adjustable rear sight it will fit differently than
if it has fixed rear sight.
For example the three digit code for an S&W model 19
with 6" barrel (adjustable rear sight) is 623.
The three digit code for an S&W Military & Police (Model 10)
with 6" barrel and fixed rear sight is 545.

Ok thank. So prior to the three digit numbers used to designate the revolver model the holster was made for, what specific model revolver was a holster stamped K 6 made for?
Thanks again for any input.

If I had to guess I would guess S&W M&P (later designated Model 10)
In other words, I don't know. I'll bet turnerriver does. He may come
around again. If not, you could PM him.

K usually refers to target sighted K frame revolvers although you'll have to carefully examine your holster or provide photos to make sure. Look inside the top front- are there impressions from the grooves such as the ones you see on the rear sight base of a S&W target revolver or are there cuts from the hard edges of the rear sight ? Is the top scalloped or cut to allow the rear sight to ride outside the top of the holster or blocked to accommodate the sight ? Is there a sewn in sight protector ? Does the leather show the impression of the rounded top strap of a Military & Police revolver ? The evidence should be there, it will require a little work to figure out what it shows. Please share what you learn as it will help others.
Regards,
turnerriver
