El Passo Saddlery Co.
I have just about worn out my copy of the EPSC catalog trying to decide if I "needed" something and lusting after their fine products. My decision has been made, to make sure that a 4" N frame is properly holstered and a belt for carry.
Those of you who have EPSC products, if you wouldn't mind, post a few photos of your rigs to reassure me that I will be pleased with mine!
Thanks!

OK here are a couple. On the left the Tom Threeperson with safety strap
in black basket weave.
2nd from left same holster with S&W Model 67 no dash.
3rd from left the #88 Street Combat model basket weave with
my S&W Model 10 with 2" barrel, Haugen belt, & CRKT knife.
I have others, but I'm sure you will like your El Paso Saddlery holster.

Here are a couple.
First, a 3-inch Model 36-1 holstered in an EPS Threepersons holster, carried on an EPS Garrison Belt, both with their Extra Fancy Floral Carving.
Second, a 4-inch Model 28-2 carried in their Threepersons holster on their Garrison Belt. Both with EPS's Border Stamping.
Both holsters are lined with pig skin.

I went kind of plain with my rig from EPS. I wanted something classic for my 6 1/2" 2nd Model HE .44 Special, for those times that I wanted to take it with me out on the hunt lease. It took about 7 months from the time that I ordered it until I got it but man, it was well worth the wait!!

Life is short, you will be happy with their work, you don't stay in business for 128 years (1889 ) by turning out poorly made leather work.
I don't have a photo handy but they are top shelf craftsmen with classic designs.
Treat yourself to some happiness and spend a little for a nice BBQ rig....
You will not regret it .

I agree thier work is magnificent--I have a shoulder holster I bought from a member here--but why not just buy/order what you want from one of the equally magnificent leather craftsman on this forum?

Well, shoot...here's one more.
EPS's Sky Six holster for my Glock 30S, with twin mag holder and 1.75-inch wide Garrison Belt...all with their Extra Fancy Floral Carving. The holster is suede lined.

Another One
I'd just mentioned this little holster in a post about a week ago, laid it on a kitchen cabinet, and promptly forgot about it. Just noticed it laying there this morning. So here it is.
A Yaqui Slide by El Paso Saddlery with their Frontier Floral Carving. This one is made for a 1.75-inch wide belt and carries a Glock 30S.

That floral carving is an absolute work of art. I thought the older carving was good but this work is drop dead gorgeous !

I agree...somewhat. There's something about the vintage work, though...hard to put my finger on just what it is. The older work just seems to have an aura about it, things from an earlier time.
El Paso Saddlery has had some recent employee turnover. One of two of their older craftsmen (and women) have left. This is what I was told by their QC guy. Since I haven't ordered anything from them in about a year, I don't know if the level of craftsmanship is equal to what was there a year or so ago. But I imagine it's close.
I'd really like to have some of their floral carving with a dyed background...but they charge extra for it, and you have to call to find out how much...which makes me pretty sure I couldn't afford it.
I'd also like to see them offer different styles of border stamping. They currently offer only one style.

I can't speak for their holsters but as to the belts you will out grow them long before they wear out. This I can attest to. Early 80's found me working a case in El Paso. Found the time to go by the factory/store front and bought a tooled/stamped belt. Looks better than I do for being that aged. hardcase60

That's what I hate about those expensive gunbelts. They all seem to
shrink over a few years.

I have 4 EPS holsters and they are of the finest design, workmanship and quality of ANY leather goods I have ever purchased. I cannot say enough about them. Just yesterday I received one of their full flap holsters for my Colt Officer's Mod. and if anything..it was even more beautifully made than my previous holsters..

I'm going to have to agree with everything you have said.
I usually go old school with everything.
The new floral carving just has a nice flow to it, but I would snap up some old stuff in a New York minute...that's what I was raised up on.

This is a sore point with me, because it's false advertising. Even today's EPS 's founder, Bob Mcnellis, acknowledged in his 1976 article that the EPS of 1890 folded and vanished in 1902. Bob founded a new, and unrelated company, in 1978: REM Industries dba El Paso Saddlery. So, not since 1890; since 1978.
Colorado Saddlery has a similar history: an unrelated company circa 1900, and a different, unrelated one founded 1946 by former Heiser employees. Still operating today but no longer in the holster biz in their case.
