Default New holster for my model 65

I don't think I've purchased a store bought holster in at least a dozen years. The last 3 or 4 concealed carry holsters I custom ordered from Lobo Gun Leather and have been very pleased with them, very pleased indeed.

Just recently one of the guys at work was showing off a new holster a guy in Nebraska had made for him that I thought looked very nice. I looked him up on FB and checked out what I saw so I reached out to him to price me on a OWB holster for my S&W model 65 with 3 inch heavy barrel. Told him I wanted it in natural color. He shot me a price and told me it'd be 3-4 weeks, so we sealed the deal and I mailed him a check. Holster showed up in just under 3 weeks and I think it looks great.

That looks like a very good holster.

Can you or anyone else explain why part of it has two layers of leather? I have seen this before, but do not understand the reasoning behind it.

My guess is it's mostly styling but it also adds a degree of rigidity to it as well. Your question made me curious so I browsed through several gun leather makers and most of them seemed to have some form of the layering in their offerings.

If you don't mind, how much that set you back? If you don't want to say, I understand. I really like that one for my 3inch 66.

Just ordered a crossdraw hunter from him for my 3inch Model 66-2. Hope it looks as good as yours. I'm sure it will. Now the anticipation begins! I ordered mine in natural also.
