Default S.D. Myres Ranger holster rigs and holster minutiae

While putting my gun room back together I ran across a box of rigs that I haven't opened in a while. Two Ranger or Texas jockstrap rigs caught my eye and I got out the catalogs as well. We had a recent discussion about unstamped model 545 holsters, both the holsters I ran across were unstamped. A search of the catalogs revealed two fancy Ranger holster models-a model 445 and the previously discussed 545. Here are two cuts from a 1940 dated catalog that has the fancy 545 model on the cover.

Here are the two rigs that I examined.

So, it looks to me like the lighter rig is a model 545 holster and the dark one is a model 445 holster. Both rigs have the Myres El Paso Tex. stamp on the belts with no logos on the holsters and both appear to have been made as rigs. The edge lacing is different on the two models, note there is a $10 price difference as well. Note the different tooling styles, they don't appear as well done or as fancy as the examples seen before.

it's nice to think about things other than hurricane hangover.
Regards,
turnerriver

That is some mighty fine looking leather John.
You don't have an old Brill tucked away that you
forgot about, and don't need, do you? I need one
to complete my collection.
