Vintage S&W Model 09 IWB Holster Variations

I have seen two different variations of the S&W Model 09
rough side out IWB holster; one version with the waistband clip positioned somewhat cross ways across the cylinder, and one version with the waistband clip off set to the trigger side and not on the cylinder. Also the off set clip model has a few more curves on the stiched side of the holster. Both holsters are stamped on the smooth inside with the S&W logo. I attached pictures below. Can anyone tell me the reasons for these variatons? Possibly differences are due to the year the particular Model 09 was manufactured, if so which design is the older design? Thank you

Neither looks like an offset clip to me. They both look as though they
would be over the cylinder. I would guess that they gave an option of
either FBI cant (15 degree tilt) like on the left, or neutral cant like on the
right.

The Garrity "Inconspicuous" shown below is a good example
of an offset clip.
