Hand tooled holster & belt for ivory handled Colt .45
Several years ago I bought a fine hand tooled holster to go with a belt I already owned. The belt was made by a convict in one of the Texas prison craft shops, and the holster was sold to me by our forum's own lawandorder (the holster was made by W.L. DeWeese of Houston, TX). I promised Tony I'd get some pics up...so Tony, these are for you! (better late than never)
The grips are from the late, great Jim Alaimo who once ran the Colt Custom Shop for a number of years, and later had his own shop until his untimely death not so long ago.

the rest of the rig
The Colt is one of the 1911-2011 Anniversary Models. When I trained at the MP School at Ft. McClellan Alabama in 1983, we still had the old .45 ACP and retained it throughout my military service.
In 1987, when I first joined the prisons, I had a convict make me a nice rug for a 1911. It has genuine lamb's wool and they currently sell similar pistol cases at the Texas Ranger's Hall of Fame in Waco (also made by convicts - BTW, they aint cheap there, and there are none that say "Colt" likely due to trademark issues).
I have a new old stock military dress mag pouch (I have a couple) and a nice recent production Boker stag handled WWI trench knife to finish off the rig.
