Lawrence Holster
Lawrence holster No. 100CS-534. Can't find any Lawrence holster applications on the net.
Anyone have an old Lawrence catalog that might help me?

The number 534 is for an S&W N Frame with 6 1/2" barrel. The 100CS was Lawrence's quick draw flap holster with a half-flap and safety strap. The CS indicates Chamois lining and Sight protector which should be an extra welt sewn on to protect the rear sight. Sure looks like it matches that description which is from a 1970 Shooters Bible.

That is not a model 1000. It is a model 100 CS. The C is for chamois
lining and the S is for sight protector. 534 is size code for .44 magnum
with 6 & 1/2" barrel.

Agreed, of course; but there are several good/bad reasons why Lawrence is no longer with us. The first is that Bill Lawrence III was thrown from his horse in the mid 1980s and is/was a paraplegic as a result (been unable to discover if he is living or dead); so sold up to Gould & Goodrich and went back to restoring fishing creels, Lawrence Co.'s one-time biz. The second is that G&G quickly learnt that the company's business practices, such as sending out invoices only at the end of each month instead of at time of shipment, were not viable (kills cash flow). The third is that from G&G it went to their mutual employee Jim Buffaloe (who is the reason Lawrence carving is so stellar) who I understand passed away at the beginning of this century.
Corrections to the above freely solicited :-). Their family is well-represented in the literature but dries up during Bill's time into the present.
My oldest brother David, fresh out of the Navy early '60s, introduced me to guns (just before I got shipped out to England where there were no guns) and his newly minted, well-oiled Ruger 357 flat top was kept in handsome Lawrence of this model that was lined with shearling. He had another Lawrence western rig, too; so one could give a lot of credit to Lawrence for infecting this particular holstorian with the holster bug as a teen. Second credit goes to Chic Gaylord and his 1960 gun/holster book, encountered 1966.

Another Lawrence
I need help on another Lawrence holster. This one is N100 502. Fleece lined.
The chart shows 502 is for 3 specific Colts. What's the N100 indicate?
Background: I'm helping a friend clean up an estate. Have several nice rigs that need accurate IDs

I have one I bought new in 1974. My 6" Models 19 and 17 have been carried around in it since then. I think that "Half-flap" design is a great way to carry in the woods; you have fast access to the gun along with complete security and protection for the gun.
Are yours going to be for sale?
