Default DTOM Concealed Carry Leather Fanny Pack in Medium Size

I was inspired by a coupla threads about concealed carry on a bike or while out hiking/walking.
For Christmas, my sister got me an Amazon.com gift card and I decided to order me a concealed carry fanny pack.

From a rational point of view, fanny packs for concealed carry make a lot of sense. But I get stuck on the dork look factor.

I suppose I look like a dork anyway, w/o the fanny pack, so I ought to just get over it...

Medium sized as in relative to fanny or pack?
Two words that should never be used together in polite company.

When I'm riding my bicycle I'm wearing bike shorts a jersey and sometimes a cycling cap or helmet.
The fanny pack'll probably be the least dorky looking part of my outfit.

Actually both. My fanny usta be an extra large before I lost weight down to a medium and the pack's a medium.

I still have one somewhere but have not used it in at least 20+ years due to the fact that around here most people don't wear those anymore and someone who does is not fooling anyone. Mine is similar to Snubby's (soft tan leather) but the black tactical Nylon ones are even worse as far as "screaming" gun inside.

For one who is always Hiking and Biking (like Snubby) I suppose it's a bit easier to "fool" people as it is more acceptable with the garb one wears while doing so.When wearing nothing but a pair of Hiking shorts (in hot weather) there is not much choice I suppose if one is to pack.

Nothing screams gun more loudly than an old man with a fanny pack.... I'm 72 this year.

Just put s small roll of toilet paper on top the the gun to hide it - if anyone asks just tell him you are ALWAYS prepared - If you are not hiking or biking - I agree.

When on hike and bike trails that pack blends in. Wearing it to Walmart screams gun. In Texas concealed and open carry are permissible, but I'd restrict my use of fanny pack carry to the trail.

I've got one my wife puts water bottles in and her phone ..

I've never used it .. a pack used while cycling or running doesn't look out of place .. but anywhere else it does scream concealed .. as most would take them off when done ..

I have a Bianchi nylon fanny pack with secret holster ( no longer made ) and I love it. I carry my pistol, extra loaded mags, badge, cuffs, flashlight, and more in it. It is larger than this one, opens with velcro, and the belt that holds it is wider. I baby it as there is nothing made today that is comparable to it. The one shown is nice, just not nearly as heavy duty.

Reviving thread:
Most discreet I found was the Tommy’s Gun Pack. No pull cord to stand out as a gun unit. Instead, the right buckle was actually fake; you yank it to open the gun compartment.

Biggest problem with it is there’s no internal holster or strap. That works fine with revolvers and some semis, but it’s a deal breaker for 1911s. I’ve been trying to find something I can attach ( with hook and loop) or sew in.

I don't use one much anymore, I'm retired LEO and am legally armed so OWB or IWB is more convenient for me.

But if you think a fanny pack "screams " gun, you're vastly overestimating the public's ability to notice, well, almost anything.

Gun guys might notice, cops will notice (regardless of material) but the general population doesn't have a clue. And if you're legally carrying and have trained with your pack, so what if they do?

Just my observed $.02.
