Suggestions for Every Day Carry bag
I’d like to pick up an EDC bag. I have seen the 511 brand MOAB6. Looks like about the right size.
My primary purpose would be for my 3” Model 65, with some speed loaders/strips. But would like to have room to put a few of my J frames in the bag/pockets with a couple boxes of 38 special for the occasional range day.
I’m calling it an EDC, but in reality, it would be occasional. Every day for me is 342 ankle rig.
I’ve noticed there are lots of responses when I tried google. Thought I’d ask the folks on this forum for insight. Thanks in advance for the assist.

I've always liked the Maxpedition FatBoy Series of bags, very well made, strong, durable.

Range bag or grab and go bag? Cross shoulder bag or small back pack?
I've got a couple of "grab and go bags"..... will hold....gun,mags/speedloader, holster flashlight, knife, firestarter, life straw water bottle..... other odds and ends like reading glasses maybe even a Kindle for family outings, trips to grandmothers house.....etc ...... when I don't want to/ can't body carry all day. Found all on Amazon.... kind of Maxedition knockoffs
Maxpedition are nice but a bit pricey..... I've got one set up as a get home bag in the truck.

I use a $5 tool bag from Harbor Freight 'cause I'm a tightwad and it's only a 100 yard walk to the range.

Personally, I'd just get a regular backpack, in a color other than "tactical black."

I have a ton of bags for various purposes including one Maxpedition. But for a planned range day I'll always use a bag that is roomy so I can put several handguns in it plus ammunition, no less than one box per gun, usually.
If I was fixing to buy a bag as you described I think I'd just get a Dillon Range Bag:

May sound simple but I would recommend either a cheaper walmart back pack or go the other route with a army surplus bag from your local distributor. No need to spend a crazy amount on something like this...

Those kinds of bags are very useful and durable, but I would never use one for an everyday carry bag.
Their appearance just screams GUN INSIDE, and I like to be more discreet about those things when out in public.
I would get something that would attract less attention ( and much smaller ) like a cheap-looking bag designed for carrying a small laptop, or a book bag, and if it had a Reebok or similar logo on it, so much the better.

Agree. I was in the local bass pro last week and found a great bag for about $30. Unfortunately, 'Browning' was emblazoned on the front. Your suggestion about Reebok makes sense. Might go look around a sporting goods store some day. In the meantime, I found a $20 bag on amazon will work just fine.
Thanks for the input from everyone in this thread.

Mind posting what you found?
For a range bag I use my wife's old nylon bowling bag. Decent sized with extra pockets and reinforced bottom.
Otherwise I use these toolbags from Duluth Trading.

The smaller one holds the small stuff used everyday and the larger has a spare set of clothes and whatever else I may carry. Noticed they are on clearance, I'm picking up another set maybe for a gift, maybe not.
I'll never wear mine out in my lifetime.

I found a fishing tackle bag (minus the trays) to be perfect!
They can be found for $15-30 at any sporting goods store. Mine came from "DICKS". They have a ziptop top and multiple pockets and compartments for magazines and ammo, hearing protection, and cleaning supplies.
The first picture is my bag, which has 3 zippered pockets under the flap. One is used for .380 practice mags, the second for 9mm mags, and the third for 40S&W mags. There is a leatherman pocket too!
The end pockets are for ear and eye protection while the inner compartment is all for guns and ammo.
This exact bag is not available anymore because it's an older model, but there are many similar bags to choose from, at very reasonable prices.

Lately I've been using a sling backpack (sling=single shoulder strap) from Walmart, and it's been good. Mine is like this but black, I think it was ~$20.
The best deal I have found for a high quality bag is the LA Police Gear Tactical Bailout Gear Bag which is very well made for the money. Mine has literally been around the world with me and while getting a bit worn it still works perfectly. the secret Velcro pistol pocket in the side is very nice.

I have a EDC Satchel made by Vertx. It is well made and appears to be durable. The back compartment will tote a laptop or notebook or a ballistic plate. Holsters and mag holders are available to install in that area as well. The inside compartment has room for an IPAD Mini, several rifle mags, boxes of ammo, a six pack of beer, a camera, clothes, etc. there are bottle holders on each side, the front panel unzips and tucks away for access to molle strips to attach even more items. It comes with a shoulder strap and waist belt.
