Box 'O Holsters find - Bianchi #9R2
I love digging through the gun show Box 'O Holsters, you never know what you will find.
The pictures are prior to clean up, I'm sure it's going to look fantastic when I'm done.
I'm a big fan of the Berns-Martin "Lightnin" holsters. The Bianchi #9R was their interpretation of the Lightnin. I'd never seen one in person before and was thrilled to see that not only was this one designed for a S&W, but it fit my M66-1 carry gun perfectly. Complete with the shoulder rig. For $20 there was no stopping me.
As soon as I got to my car, she came out of my 5.11 man purse and right into her new home.
I couldn't be happier. This was the only gem in a box of otherwise un-memorable holsters. I always look because you just never know what you will find.

Yes she is a beauty. Do you happen to know
who designed her?

I heard that the designer was being held outside the country at an undisclosed secure location. Part of the witness protection program. I'd tell you his name, but then I'd have to kill you.

I have the old 9-R. Yours, as you know, is a vast improvement
over the 9-R. I would never disclose his name or location
because he is a good friend. The secret is safe with me.

The rig is in "ok" condition. Any thoughts on repair or replacement options?

Because only the holster itself is pictured, I see only superficial cosmetic issues on it; but nothing I'd think was in need of "repair or replace". So: perhaps tell us a bit more about that, with pics.

Red -
Sorry I wasn't clear - the actual holster was in great shape, but the shoulder harness was beat. Taking your advice from another thread, I had a similar holster that used elastic to hold the gun. I never use that because of your warnings, and it's harness was in great shape.
Swapped and problem solved.
On day two of the show, I picked up a real nice 9R (no dash) for a M36 and an ankle holster for a Colt 1908 Vest Pocket. It was a Bianchi weekend!

Love the 9R2, perfect place for a Square Butt M36.

I have a holster like that for a J frame. If someone likes that I'll give it to him!
