I've been absent
I went in to the hospital for emergency surgery last Thursday and got back home yesterday. I'm on intravenous antibiotics for the next 10 days and will need another surgery in 6 weeks or so. I'll be around as much as possible but I'm not sure how much that will be. You all have been well behaved, I hope that doesn't change now that my weakness has been exposed ( that's a joke by the way ). As I said, I'll pay as much attention as I can, thanks to all of you for your understanding.
Regards,
John Witty

Make sure the nurses turn you frequently, so you don't wind up a basketweave holster area.
Get healthy, and we'll see ya later.

Rule #1 when you go to the hospital: Get out as quick as you can.
Glad you're back, and here's hoping that next surgery yields a quick recovery.

John:
I wish you a speedy, and complete recovery. A prayer in your behalf has been offered. I want you to know, that your expertise, and help, with my questions, especially about leather gun holsters, is appreciated. Your friend,

I hope you are feeling "up to snuff" very soon! While you are recovering, I am sure there is some Verdigris wanting/needing your attention!

John: inquiring minds want to know:
Did you get a gown that fully closed in the back?
How was the green jello ?
Did you get your face slapped by a nurse?
Thanking of you hope you can make Reno !!

They gave me a second gown to wear backwards when they made me push the IV stand up and down the halls.
It was orange jello. My wife came in while I was attacking it and said " you hate jello." Not any more, it's a wonder what two days of Nothing By Mouth printed on the nurse instruction board will do to you.
I never got a sponge bath and the only inappropriate thought I could come up with was " why do you need to know my blood pressure at 2 am ?"
I'm planning on Reno and am going to try to schedule around it.
Thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers.
Regards,
John Witty

I haven't been in the " leather shop" in a while. That explains why I'm a week behind in wishing you well.
You'll be winding up your antibiotic regimen shortly and I hope it's kept the bugs at bay.
Prayers and Godspeed for your next surgery.
It will all soon be in the rear view mirror.

When my nurse told me I needed to start touring the hallways (with the IV pole you refer to), I told her I would need another "BDD". She asked "What is a BDD?"
I answered "A Butt Display Device."
She said they had robes now. Some of their robes were about the length of a miniskirt that would embarrass the town tramp, so keep that second gown handy.
The second trip into the hospital last year, I got wise and had my wife bring me some pajama pants. I figured they'd tell me if that was a problem.
Nobody ever mentioned it.
I'm thinkin they were grateful for the eye protection......
