For you folks who wear and use tactical gear
I bought a couple of bags to tote pistols in when hiking and fishing. I prefer a true holster instead of the Velcro wrap universal fit type thing that I have. If anyone knows of holsters made with a Velcro backing I would appreciate the info. I would also like a Molle compatible holster for my S&W Shield. Thank you.

5.11 makes a couple of things that you might use. There are both right and left handed full holsters (a large and small, adjustable for depth) that have molle backs. I have one of each attached to the inside back of my go bag, to carry my Shield and a larger pistol. I also made up a "kit" using a double-sided molle panel they make. Two holsters on one side, a couple of bags on the other side. That lets me keep the associated gear together, and drop the whole panel into an open-space backpack that had inadequate pockets.
I have seen, but not purchased, the same holsters that have a velcro backing panel to work with a vest and panel system they have. That's a bit too tactical for me.

One of the 5.11 holsters caught my eye but it is a one size fits all design. If it fits a full size semi-auto I don’t want to use it for my Shield. They do offer another universal wrap design with a single magazine holder attached.
The Vertx bag has a large square face of Molle loops under the front panel. I would like to put the Shield there. The large area in the rear where I mounted that Sig SP2340 and two spare mags needs to be played with for weight distribution and ease of draw.
The small green Maxpedition bag is popular amongst fly fishermen here. I intend to haul my Advantage Arms/Glock 29 .22 LR creation in it. That is a lightweight pistol. The Sig SP2022 I stuck inside the bag for the picture is a bit heavy in my opinion. Both bags are well made.

"For you folks who wear and use tactical gear":
Grow up. Get a job. Move out of your mother's basement. If you feel a really pressing need for tactical gear then join the Army, or the Marines, maybe the Coast Guard, whatever winds your watch for you.
Seriously? Tacti-Cool?

There are two sizes of the holster. You could mangle the adjustments to use the large one for a small pistol, but the small one needs little adjustment. I'll try to get a pick of my layout for you.

I am unsure if this was meant to be rude or comical. But allow me to reply, even though you brought nothing of value to this discussion.
I am grown up, recently turned sixty.
Retired last April.
I lost my parents years ago; they never owned a house with a basement.
Unfit for military service due to epilepsy.
I bought the Vertx bag to keep in the car. We have a home in the mountains, and like to hike in the area. I can put my binoculars, camera,
two bottles of water, snacks, a handgun, a couple of rain parkas in it. Easy to tote, keep items separated, and my anti-gun wife doesn’t know I have a firearm.
I bought the Maxpedition pouch because it is as popular as fly rods where I fish. I don’t stroll down the river bank with a gun hanging off my hip like John Wayne. I see no need for that.
Thanks to everyone who had input on the subject.

MY "JACK BAUER BAG".
For the life of me I can't remember where I got it. Very nicely made & The main compartment is Velcro lined with moveable mag pouches. A smaller bellows front pocket. 2- 1 liter water bottle pockets on either side. All that is covered by a snap buckle flap. It has a hidden Velcro pistol area. It has a top handle, a shoulder strap, & the obligatory thigh strap. It's SO HUSH HUSH that there are no labels or emblems. In the event you are captured they cannot torture you to find out where you got your MAN PURSE.

Can’t help with a maker but will offer a suggestion. Buy an inexpensive nylon holsters to fit your guns, a role of Velcro and make what you want. Cheap and easy way to go.

I've worn tac-gear.........
I didn't like having to put all that **** on to just make a house call. But we did.
All new gear for picture day, lol
(Toolroom blank firing adapters screw'd on muzzles)
This'n with a hammer strap is as about as tactical as it gets now n days.

Gear looks good, Keith, both for then and now! Best my poor State Police Dept could afford for the 20 of us who were members of our "tactical" team was to buy some old style surplus Army OD's, field jackets, and combat boots and furnish us with a few boxes of RIT black material dye. Fortunately, my wifemate could handle the dying correctly for me. No patches or name tags or fancy embroidered badges! They did get some money set aside for vests that had a simple patch across the back that said, "Police".
Each squad of five men had two M-1s. Each of us had our duty issue pump 12 guage Model 870 "Riot" guns, and our duty issue Model 19s. There was a good bit of leeway given as to how we carried stuff on our waist as long as it was secure and accessible. All of us carried one or two knives of some sort. And one man was assigned to carry and use, if necessary, a Remington Model 700 off the shelf as a sniper/anti-sniper weapon. M-16s and the 30.06 were assigned based on the best shooter(s) with each of them. The 30.06 was a permanent part of my kit. I was given liberty to make it as accurate as I could without it showing (except on a target) or making it unreliable. I glass bedded the stock and floated the barrel and mounted one of my personal scopes on it in place of the one they bought for it.
We were not burdened down in those days with such things as portable radios, expanding batons, tasers, and later developments for such duty as ours so our load was somewhat lighter than those guys carry today. I dunno how even regular duty LEO's today can carry around all the stuff they carry, and I sure don't see how they can sit comfortably in their patrol vehicles! We could be deployed by one squad, two squads, three or all four depending on the situation anywhere in the State of New Mexico, and we were pretty well divided between north and south by regular duty stations. Usually the closest five man squad would arrive first on the scene and try to hold things down to a dull roar till the rest of the cavalry arrived. Those were the days. Sorry, I got carried away reminiscing!!
