Default M-3 holsters

Does anyone know if the cartridge loops on M-3 shoulder holsters were from the factory or a field modification?

If you are referring to the M3 made for the Victory Models, my understanding is the cartridge loops were added in the field/fleet, usually by parachute riggers. If you are referring to the M3 for the 1911, I think the wearer would have used a magazine pouch .

Yes, the ones for the Victory revolvers. And yes, the riggers would sew up about anything for a contribution to their party fund but for some reason they never charged me and I was invited to all of the parties. May have had something to do with being the 100 Division Chief and their quarterly marks. RHIP.
