Default 2 THREEPERSONS ALIKE BUT DIFFERENT

Bucheimer and Bucheimer-Clark both made authentic Tom
Threeperson's holsters. My Bucheimer-Clark thread featured
the Rebel, that Red Nichols said was more like Threeperson's
personal holster than any other makers. The Rebel is shown
below, on the left, to compare with the Bucheimer Federal Man,
which is on the right.

How are they alike? Both holsters are authentic Tom
Threeperson's holsters, based on criteria outlined by Red
Nichols. The free edges on both are joined by substantial
welts for the trigger guard to rest upon. The muzzles are
closed with the welts extending to the front sights. The
triggers and guards are fully exposed. The belt loops are
folded from the holsters body.

How are they different? The Rebel rides low on the hip, with
a tie-down thong, and open top. The Federal Man is a high
ride with a retention strap and thumb break, with the lower
part of the strap sewn to the holster body.

Both the Bucheimer-Clark Rebel, model 98, and the Bucheimer
Federal Man, model 570, were made for Single Action Colts with
5.5" barrels, as was Tom Threeperson's original. Just like Tom's,
mine is carrying a Colt with a 4.75" barrel. Difference is mine is
a replica. Tom's was not.

Very good. Don't underestimate the full half-circle muzzle shape as being unique to the one Bucheimer-Clark and to Tom's: no one else has used it because it's almost unnatural when making a pattern, what with the natural fold and the front sight being 'right there'.

Notice, in contrast, how your other B-C's muzzle is configured, which is the way that Myres etc. have been done from the beginning:

1930 threepersons by myres (1).jpg

This particular Myres lacks the full-round muzzle; but instead it has a different feature of Tom's own holster -- that triangle of welt stitching that has a very wide (I don't mean thick) welt under it.

And it was all these features and a few more, that allowed me to identify (I think) the original maker of Tom's holster: A.B. Egland of Douglas AZ, the city where Tom (1) appeared at rodeo as Tom Three Persons, (2) joined the Army as Tom T. Persons, and (3) crossed the border into Mexico as a scout for Patton in the infamous Cardenas Ranch raid -- all in 1916 and within a few months of each other.

I don't want to clutter up your thread with the comparison images that show how an Egland is like Tom's but like no others'. P'raps someday I'll start up another thread on that (but talk about minutiae).
