Default Which # SD Myres is this .

Got this off fleabay . It has either 990 or 996 penciled on the skirt on the front side . Can't tell which because one side of the cuff is positioned over the last number .Pictures are from the auction , will try to get one of the marking if needed . Any help appreciated.

990 is the model number shown in a 1972 Myres catalog.

Nice holster. Hit it with some Blackrock Leather N Rich and it will look like new. What gun does it fit?

It's older than you might have thought from turnerriver's post; the use of 'tex' in the stamp is a clue. The first catalogue I have (I don't have 'em all) that shows the No. 990 is believed to be 1937 (Myres catalogues are rarely dated but a bit of 'twist and turn' can reveal a likely date). My image of that page is too fuzzy to help you much but this one from ten years later is more informative (even states Woodsman):

1943 myres maybe (3).jpg
