Belt bite
Hope this is the right forum, but here's the deal: I have an average size waist for my height and a big belly. My belt feels pretty comfortable, even with my weapon and holster. Even after I sit down in an automobile, it doesn't feel too bad at first. But then, the belt starts to bite into the torso. The only solution I can think of is to drive with my belt unbuckled, which means having to get out of the car and rebuckle once I reach my destination. Or, get a ratchet belt and loosen when I sit down. What are your suggestions (other than lose weight).

For years I made the B8 Gun Belt, 1.5" width around the waist to support holstered handgun and other necessities, with the tongue and buckle reduced to 1" width to minimize bulk at the belly. Always worked well for me, and always popular while I was running the business.
Suggest you contact the Fedders family, now running Lobo Gun Leather (simple Google search for the website). Ask about the B8 Gun Belt.

Crossbreed makes a great belly-band holster. Very comfortable and versatile. It rides around your waistline, and the belt helps secure it. You would not need to tighten your belt as much, and belly-band will give you a bit of a buffer between pants/belts cutting into your stomach.

Safariland, and a few others make a uniform duty under belt (pants) that is lined with Velcro. You wear it Velcro out, and it matches with the Velcro lining on the inside of the duty belt, or wear it by itself, with the Velcro lining facing in. It adjusts for size with Velcro. I have one, and it is very comfortable, with no buckle to gouge you, and it is easy to adjust just right for comfort / carrying support. Not really stiff enough for OWB with a heavy gun, it works fine for most IWB applications, or light weight guns OWB.

That's a good idea. Puts an extra layer or two between you and the buckle.

And the belt still bites . I tried it , works fine standing ,..... not so much sitting . I fixed the problem by losing 40 pounds . Velcro belt mentioned above helps some . Anymore I either pocket carry or wear a 3" gun belt / money belt so suspenders work well to keep my pants up when I'm not wearing overalls .

Thanks to all. Hopefully, I can loose more than a few pounds this summer. As soon as the weather warms up, I will start walking and/or riding my bike. Thanks Eddie Southgate. I did not want to spend $70+ just to find out that I had the same problem. I'm thinking a belly band holster would solve things. Wanted to do suspenders, but the wife says "NO!". Her dad wears suspenders! LOL!

Maybe it's time for a man girdle until you drop those extra pounds.

It looks like a ranger belt may be the solution. I ordered one made by Your Tack from Amazon. It fit, but could be a couple of inches longer. I ordered another the right size and will return the one that I received today. My initial impression was positive.

Ok. Ordered the proper size Your Tack ranger belt from Amazon. It arrived today. I've worn it half the day and love it! No more belt bite!

I have really Bad Hips from toting a Sam Brown around & kicking doors during my LEO Career, Belts are really uncomfortable. I have been wearing Dickie's Belt Suspenders under a shirt for about 10 years when wearing Jeans, and using a Bellyband when wearing soft waist pants. Because the Dickie's hooked on my belt I couldn't use them with the soft waist & Bellyband Combo. About 6 months ago I bought a pair of Regular Clip Suspenders for the Bellyband ..... Instant success, so I bought a few more pair and have ditched the belt, using the Clip Suspenders attached to the Belly Band & waistband even in Jeans. Life is Good again & my Hips are mostly HAPPY. BTW, I EDC a Glock 27 with a Spare Mag most days. An LCR in 9mm when I can't make the G27 work.

Great solution! And, a healthy choice to trim some inches off your midsection. You can turbocharge your waistline reduction efforts by adopting a low carbohydrate dietary strategy that limits carb intake to no more than 100 net carbs a day.
After the first month using this strategy, my weight dropped through a decades-long stuck point along with my waistline measurement numbers and had me buying new pants and IWB holsters inside six months.

That's really the best solution. I suggest, sliding the buckle around to 11 or 9 o' clock.

I know the OP found his solution, but figured I’d add this just in case.
Qualifier being I realize people may not like ratchet belts and full disclosure I’m new to the CC world (2 years) so not as much experience.
I’ve carried a M&P 9c (1.0/2.0) and FS very comfortably using a Kore Essentials gun belt since the beginning. Adjusting the size is very easy -helps on those days when you need an extra 1/4 inch or more. It’s easy to adjust sitting down with one hand. If you have to disarm throughout the day I can’t imagine something else working better. I don’t have alot of stuff in my pockets or on my belt aside from my EDC so can’t speak to how much weight it supports.
There are other companies doing the same I just haven’t used them.

+1 for the Kore. It’s what I use and I can discreetly push the release and let it out a few notches as I sit down for comfort, then as I stand up, cinch it back in to hold the gun up.

I've been wanting to try a ratchet belt. Perhaps that is the next purchase?

I wear a tapered gun belt the most....1'5" wide around the body and tapers to 1" across the front. Works great.
That Ranger belt Snubby is holding works pretty good as well.........I know .... he made that one for me. Great workmanship. It is the base for my BBQ rig.

The ranger belt doesn't lend itself to threading an outside the waistband holster. I like the look, but that issue keeps me from buying one.
