looking for a ccw belt that will last. something that will not roll over like some belts do. have been looking at hanks belts seem pretty good any suggestions. carry a shield .45 lite wt commander or officers model in.45

Those 5.11+ belts seem to be sturdy.

I have worn one of these for over 3 years. No fold over on this 1/4" thick belt.

Armour Belts

Here's a good belt if you don't want to spend much money ($16.50 on sale), just make sure to round off the sharp edge on the inside of the buckle with a file before you wear it.

I like my Bigfoot belt. Metal interior core with quality 2-sided english bridal leather. I think around $60.

I have also heard/read good things about “$30 gun belt.” And yes that is its name. I bet you even know how much it costs!

I like the wilderness tactical belt... I had a “$30 gun belt”, but it still would sag a bit... the wilderness belt has infinite adjustment, so it’s real easy to snug up to the exact size I need...

I’ve got one of the Kore ratcheting belts. Very stiff with no roll over. I like the 1/4” adjustments and quick release feature. I carry a Sig 239 or a Mauser M2 in a Milt Sparks VMII, a S&W scandium Commander with a clip, and a Ruger SP101 in an alien gear IWB (not all at the same time, of course) and it holds up well (pun intended). In addition to one of those, I usually add an airweight J or a .380 Seecamp in front pocket along with mags and speedstrips for whatever I’m carrying.

People can talk about how stiff their belts are, but all belts get soft over time unless they are reinforced. Leather, nylon, extra layers and extra stitching means nothing in a year or two; they all soften.

However, when reinforced with a polymer strip, they never get soft. I've not used a Kore belt, but they have the polymer reinforcement and will probably stay stiff.

What's really interesting is that you can get an inexpensive belt with this feature: Uncle Mikes Instructor belt. I've seen it sold for anywhere between $25-$35.

I've been using one of these for about 5 years now and it's just as stiff as the day I got it. I bought a second one because the velcro started to wear out. Y'all can get a more expensive belt that will soften over time, but this one works great.

Filson double belt. Got a 1 and 1.5'' on a sale. They are expensive at full price but love mine. Plus they look great also when not carrying. The best quality I think.

Take a look at the Daltech Force line. They carry both double thick and internal core belts. I recently purchased a Super Bio, although not leather it works perfectly for my Shield using a ISW holster. Also, since it's about 1/8" thick, it solved a problem for me with my phone clip not holding as it did with the double thick belts.

Any double thick, 1-1/2" or 2", leather belt in the color you prefer with the buckle you prefer will work fine. A stiffener helps, but not needed on the better belts. Expect to pay about $50-70 for it, it'll last until it's way out of fashion.

But, it's a Shield. A pants pocket with a pocket holster will work as well.

Do a search for "steel core gun belt". I own two from Daltech Force/Thirty Dollar Gunbelt. Much more comfortable than it sounds. Give one a try - you won't regret it.

I'm a fan of The Beltman. I have their 1.5" and 1.25" double-layer bullhide belts and they've held up very well over the years. Even with my 642 carried IWB I prefer the extra support from them than the Wilderness Frequent Flyer 5-stitch belt I have.

I have made a few (thousand) belts designed to carry the load of a holstered handgun and accessories. Learned early on that two layers of heavy leather, cemented and laminated together, will provide far better service for far longer periods than any single-layer belt. Two-layer belts resist stretching and edge roll much better than single-layer leather is capable of doing.

Being a bit of a picky old fart, I limited my offerings to the B8 Gun Belt, two layers of leather laminated and cemented, stitched together, 1.5" width around the body, tapered to 1" at the buckle and tongue (to reduce bulk at the belly). I thought that was the ideal solution.

Now that I have retired and sold the business, I understand that the Fedders family is offering a few other options based upon customer preferences (which may have exceeded my limited views of what would be best for everybody).

Suggest that you contact Lobo Gun Leather, visit with Mark and Matt, order a real belt that will still be serving your needs 5 or 10 years down the road, while all the other belts in your closet find their way into the Goodwill bag or the trash.

I've gone with a Comp-Tac double-layered contoured leather belt, reinforced with kydex. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for.

This doesn't take the place of my belt rigs, but I use it as a primary belt that will also support a gun and holster when I'm not strapping on a full belt rig.

I've been wearing an AG Custom Gunleather double thickness leather belt for quite a few years now, and have bought each of my sons and my wife one as well. These have no stiffener between the laminated two pieces of leather and they have held up extremely well for me. They have also carried a reasonably heavy EDC and an extra magazine or ammo every day of their use. Mine were ordered plain leather with two rows of stitching toward the outer edges all around, except for another which I happened upon that the owner had outgrown and which fit me. I later ordered the same belt with the basketweave stamping just for the looks which I like very much.

The owner has been extremely accomodating and has provided excellent and quick service after talking with me and answering all my questions very well. He is an excellent vendor who provides great customer service and very good products, in my experience. Take a look at the website and see what you think. You can buy cheaper belts and more expensive ones, but I don't think you can buy a better belt if you carry a handgun.

Adjusting the size easily and as needed is a big plus. Easily handles FS M&P and spare mag. They do have max weight suggestions, but no issues for me. I don’t personally carry a lot in my pockets -phone, keys, small flashlight so can’t speak to supporting a lot of weight.

I really like the Wilderness instructor belts with insert, Beltman belts and Akers belts. I have belts from many more makers; but, these three are my favorites. In my opinion, Akers belts are the best bang for the buck out there in leather concealed carry belts. After almost ten years of use, my Akers belts are both in great condition and still as stiff as a freshman boy at his first high school dance.

People are partial to belts the way they are to holsters. For me I like the ones I own from Triple-K.

+1 on the Armour belts. This was Bissell belts before he retired. Excellent quality, lots of options. Fair price for what you get.

I also agree with the KORE ESSENTIAL belt. I purchased the nylon tactical ranger belt. It's an outstanding belt and supposedly can hold up to 10lbs of gear. I did a lot of research on this belt & nothing but great reviews. I carry my M&P 45 compact and a spare mag..... no problems. Good luck on your choice!

The only problem with these super stuff belts is that over time they will blow tear the belt loops right off your pants. Thinking about having my belt loops reenforced by my tailor.

I would like to suggest you IWB and Glock 19 Holsters from Solidgear. i have been using it for one year and I must tell you it's an amazing gun accessiory.

May sound weird but my Gov't issue belt is great. Carries a Glock 27 comfortably with jeans and has lasted almost 20 years. Got it through our uniform purveyor.
