Default Gun Rug

Has anyone seen these Smith and Wesson gun rugs before? There is no tag or any manufacturers markings anywhere it's 17"long.

Yes, I have one or two of these. I'll take look at them later today to see if mine have tags or any other identification as to maker.

Well, the one I have is like yours- no tag or maker identification. Perhaps another collector can shed some light on these.

The only S & W rug I have was given to me by one of my LGS owners who went out of business and this was in the back room. It also has no makers ID but it is a double pocket, very well made, quality zippers and the S&W logo and name are embroidered, not printed. The material is like that "ballistic nylon" and the colors are silver/blue (sorry for ****** cell phone pics).

I have a lot of gun rugs and includes Charles Daly suede lined with lambs wool, and a lot of Bob Allens but the S & W one is the one I like the most....(currently has my 29-2 6-1/2" inside).

Sorry that I cannot help with where it came from. My friend said he got a lot of stuff on promo with decent size gun orders, especially when stocking for local LEO's and PD's, including another item he found laying in the dusty shelves that now resides at my place....an unopened box of S&W Model 100-1 Nickel 2 key handcuffs.

SCSW 4th Edition lists several pages of advertising and promo items and I see gun rugs were among them but I haven't seen if the rugs are for sale on S & W website or not. None of my LGS has any clue where to get them or even if they are available from any name OEM.

Please post if you do manage to track these down to some current source. I'd love to have more.
