EPS is great. I have several of their rigs in my stable. I have to admit though, for the past few years I have been dealing with the leather cutters that are here on the forum instead. Kinda like shopping local

Bought this rig last year for my 4", 629-5 and couldn't be happier!!!

I experienced a delay but, they called me, after I sent and email, to tell me that the buckle I had ordered was on back order from their supplier. Once I was told what was available for immediate shipment, it was a no brainer and I like it much more than my original choice!

Default EL Paso Saddlery purchase

In case someone is still looking into El Paso Saddlerey, I just purchased an Austin 1930 for my S&W 686 + 4 inch barrel. I received the order in less than 10 days after the order and the quality is great and was exactly what I had ordered. I have included pictures of the back of the holster since I was unable to find any posted anywhere just in case someone is as screwed up as me and wanted to know what the back of the holster looked like. I would recommend EL Paso Saddlery highly.

El Paso Saddlery website doesn't come up. It says Account has been Suspended. It has been a little over 7 weeks since I ordered my holster. I sure hope all is OK.

I saw the same thing when I tried to bring them up on my iPad. My guess is that they just have some sort of website glitch going on today.

I had a very positive experience with them last fall.

I bought a sweet crossdraw thumbstrap holster for my 3" Model 29 from EPS last year and I love it. As long as you know to order it and completely forget about it, you won't be disappointed.

I do wish it had 2 belt holes like a pancake but that's on me, not EPS.

Another positive experience. The strap broke on this holster that I originally ordered in 2000. When I spoke to them at NRAAM they said to send it in
... took a few weeks but they did a marvelous job.

Was told they had a devil of a time with the triple stitching as they no longer offer it on their holsters and the craftsman who did it is long gone.

Great outfit! They stand by their product!

Same experience from here:

Personally I would be pessimistic after seeing such a message from an established player like EPS.

P.S. the header shown in that search is your reminder that the company is not El Paso Saddlery founded 1890; but rather R.E.M. Industries (R.E.M. = Robert E. McNellis) founded 1978.

I have several older EPS holsters that are really good. The last one I got was not so good.

It came with the gun so I was more surprised than angry. It was a belt slide open bottom with a thumbsnap for a 3” N-frame. The leather was way too thin to support a large gun. It just looked and felt cheap. It had the EPS stamp, but I convinced myself it was a knockoff or made on a bad day at the shop.

I don’t have pictures because I just gave it to my neighbor who had some use for it. I didn’t want to sell it in eBay because I’d have to take it back.

Getting your website suspended could just be a glitch or a sign of serious issues. I hope they work it out.

A few months ago, I ordered my 4th Tom Threepersons holster from them.
When it arrived, it wasn't a Tom Threepersons design. I called and talked to a young man who seemed inexperienced, but he took it back without argument.

The young fellow said he didn't think they could make a TP because of the exposed trigger. I sent him a photo of the other three they made for me. He said he would check with his boss. I didn't hear any more from them and after a couple of months I assumed they didn't make them anymore. Another month went by, and it arrived in the mail.

Slow, but good quality, and they did right by me. I would buy from them again.

I've had quite a few El Paso Saddlery holsters, belts, and cartridge slides. Never a problem with any of them, and their delivery times were as stated.

Latest one is this Yaqui Slide on their 1.75-inch Garrison Belt. My Glock 30SF has been carried daily with this rig for at least a year-and-a-half now, maybe longer. No problems, no complaints. They make a quality product.

I'm wanting one of their Tom Threeperson's holsters for my Ruger Blackhawk and a Texas belt with 24 loops for them fat .45 Colt torpedoes.
For years my old Ruger Vaquero .45s were carried in matching Tom Threepersons type holsters for my cowboy action shooting. Being relatively slow athletically speaking those holsters cut my draw and re-holster time from the original "Slim Jim" holsters that I started with.

I think they survived the fire but I am uncertain; I pulled so much stuff out. We shall see over the summer.

I had other high quality rigs from EPS, especially an OWB "combat" holster for my CS-45. Excellent leather work.

I really like JFramer's comment, which I was too lazy to find so I've cut it from a post already on this page:

"Went to order one of their gun belts and found out I need a tape measure to measure my waist to get the center hole measurement. DOH! Where the heck am I going to get a tape measure way out here in the jungle??"

Indeed EPS is following a very time-honored methodology for specifying belt size that I think JB came up with; and it is, quite frankly, intended to lay the blame on the buyer if he then says, 'doesn't fit!'. "Not our fault, you measure it wrong, we won't take it back" comes the reply.

In fact all gunleather belts have an oversize built into them and always have; but are marked for the waist size they are intended to fit. Personally I cut out all the b.s. and state, guaranteed (never had a fail): give me your pants size only, as long as they are contemporary -- because they have an oversize built into them, too (ladies' dress sizes have experienced inflation for decades).

The gunleather maker accomplishes this by starting with, say, a trousers belt that perfectly fits around the waistline of someone who wears modern-day pants marked 36"; then sizes up and down by the 2" industry standard for the other sizes and marks them all accordingly, by pants size.

A gunbelt worn around the pelvis, perhaps Texas Ranger style so just below the trousers belt? Same; the gunbelt is sized to fit someone in 36" (for example) pants but worn in that position, then sized up and down for the other sizes.

In fact that gunbelt likely measures 4" longer than the waistline measurement.

It's not rocket science, but it is a science :-)

I always buy the EPS #2 Thumbreak; just received my last one in November, along with 1.75" plain gunbelt. Same high quality, same honest delivery date.

This neat black El Paso Saddlery holster of unknown age (1950s?) fits my Colt Scout perfectly.

I made an order for a Threeperson's for my 4'' 57 and a 6 loop cartridge slide at the shop in late 2017. The guy there was quite stoic and not too talkative.

I can't recall if the above showed up on time or not. But, I was pleased with it. Not the quality of Milt Sparks but I am still pleased. I love the Threeperson's carving and have always liked their russet color.

I have a great four piece buckle set from Vogt that I'd like EPS to make a range belt for. But, I'm hesitant to do it due to reviews I've heard and how hard it is to get them to answer the phone. I'd hate to have the buckle disappear, get damaged or have to exchange the belt because it dosen't fit.

A retired Austin PD officer told me a few weeks ago to know what you want when you order so you don't have to answer questions, make your order and wait.
