Default Bianchi Shadow

A Bianchi Shadow #8L came with a model 15 that I purchased, I assume that the L designates it is a left hand OWB holster, am I correct?

Maybe it means it's for an L Frame. If so, your model 15 would fit loose.
You should be able to tell if it's a left or right hand draw by looking at it.
If not, put up a picture and we can tell you.

Absolutely correct. Why all the guessing? The fitment is marked separately, and clearly, below the company name and model name.

Here are a couple of pics, it fits the model 15 fine, I just want to confirm if it a right or left side holster.

Moulded to the Python so an L frame equivalent, not K frame.

If the fitment was correct would it protect the trigger guard?

Are you asking if an L frame were in the holster, would the trigger be covered? Then, no. Was not considered at all desirable in that era (and with the hammer trapped by the thumbsnap, also of no utility).

Covering the trigger of a DA revolver began in the late 20th century, for holster like the Bianchi Cyclone to ensure that brush wouldn't entangle the opening in the guard.

I used to wear one with a Model 64, four-inch barrel, then with my M-66-3. It concealed very well under a short jacket.
