I'm about at my wits end trying to find a proper fitting crossdraw holster for my 5" M&P 38. I tried a DMBullard and it's actually for a 6" and it's too loose for the M&P...fits an adjustable sight M19/66 just fine. I also tried a Mernickle and what I got is just right for an L-frame, but not the M&P.
If I get desperate, I'll try making my own. I've done it before in my younger days when my hands still worked like they should, but I'm not so sure now.

Don't get desperate, go vintage. Auction sites have heaps of these things, from top draw to spring draw. I say 'vintage' partly because that's when 5" was 'the thing'. I expect turnerriver could post some gorgeous 'catches' of 5 inchers.
