Default Repairing classic holsters: Berns-Martin & Heiser

Most of us have classic holsters in our collections that were bought cheap because of damage, usually stitching. I've fixed some for people and here's a couple. The B-M (for a 2" Colt New Service) had torn and missing stitching (on the toe, spring, and top of main seam) and was scuffed up. The Heiser was modified per the owners wishes, and relaced and cleaned up. I used "Leather CPR" to clean up the leather on both. I hate seeing these old holsters go to waste. The re-stitching might not be perfect, but the holsters are useful again.

I like your work Matt I still have a floral carved holster you made for me 10-12 years ago for a Colt Official Police. We lefties (handed) have to stick together.

I remember it. I think your Colt had kind of tiger striped looking target grips with gold medallions. I'm not sure but I think you might have sold that gun since.

I just bought a vintage Hunter (floral pattern carving) for my 640 Pro. It should make a nice BBQ rig. Thanks for sharing what you use to clean up "old" holsters. That info may come in handy for me. Also nice repair on the holster. They both look fantastic!

Here it is when it wore stags. But those are on my Nickel .45 Colt now. That's a factory 3" .41 Colt under it, and a '52 Cobra.
And here's another holster repair. This one needed the lower double row of stitches of the belt loop restitched. No big deal usually, but I had to use long tweezers to work deep inside the holster without taking the holster apart to do it. Thread dyed then the dye rubbed off to match the original stitches as close as possible.
