Default L frame/K frame holster question

Good day, I'm considering buying a holster on-line sized for and L frame however I have a K frame. Will the cylinder be the same size? It is a minimalist holster for a snubby so that if the cylinders are the same diameter I believe it will work. thanks.

A K-frame cylinder is smaller in diameter then a L-frame cylinder

Have you thought of asking the holster manufacturer if it will work?

Or asking the manufacturer if they make the same model for a K-frame?

When I had a side holster made for my L frame 681 I simply asked the maker to use his pattern for the K frame and add just a bit larger to accommodate the bigger cylinder . He did and it fits just fine . Hope this helps . Dave Lafleur at " Cochise Leather Works " in Az . He has a website and a phone # . He is a one man shop so don't take 30 mins of his time on the phone . Regards, Paul

The L frame, as already should have been mentioned, is identical to the Python; so the frame itself is between the K frame and the N frame. Not a coincidence, the L frame was introduced to supplant the Colt. So, cylinder diameter is NOT the issue; it is frame size.

Agreed you should wait for a K frame holster, for which Colt did not have an equivalent.
