Default Lawrence for Pretty Big Bucks

332728635732 | eBay

Someone got a nice holster. I think the holster is made for a S&W 3 1/2 inch N frame gun. Maybe it is just as simple as two bidders wanting a holster badly. I know Lawrence is one of the "Big 3", but most of the time, it seems to me, that Myres or Heiser leather sells for more. I thought $200-300 would have been the high end for this one, so it is not outrageously bought.

If that holster brought that much, I wonder how much my holster for the same gun is worth now?

Holster sold for $536.50
The last $400 of this auction were two bidders going against each other.
Hope the winner is happy with his purchase.

That's because it's one of those California holsters. I hear there's legislation banning the import of anything that facilitates carrying a gun.

Supply and demand. Scarcity (SP?) increases demand.
Typically there are more Lawrences for sale than Heisers and
Myres. So with more supply, generally they don't command the
prices of Heiser or Myres. But, when a real nice one comes along,
such as the one you refer to, Lawrence competes favorably in
price with Heiser and Myres. In my humble opinion, Lawrence
is every bit as good quality as Heiser and Myres, and in some
respects even better.

A LOT more than you paid for it ??
That did seem to me to be a very high price for that Lawrence, as stated when 2 people want the same thing it’s liable to get pricey.

And for comparison, a floral carved Myres (614?) which was supposedly for a 3-1/2" Magnum sold a few days ago with a buy now price of $150. Condition was comparable to the Lawrence being discussed here.

It's impossible to compete with bidders who have the mentality that they have to be the high bidder every minute of an auction. They're the ones that generate the artifically inflated prices we're seeing on most of these types of holsters - and most other accessories.

John,
As a former owner of this awesome holster, you definitely know the quality of it. I may be biased, but I think it is THE best 3 1/2 inch magnum holster I have ever seen. I can't imagine letting it go.
