Today I Got a s&w marked holster with the following markings on it 29L and 34. Lined and dark brown in color. was this a factory produced holster? thanks

Yes on factory.

I have one 29L and a couple of 44/34s. Most likely made by Gould and Goodrich in N.C.

29L (for lined as you discovered) is the model and the 34 is size 3 (k frame) and a 4 inch barrel IIRC.

Ought to fit K frame standard hammer S&Ws but not with a target hammer. I have a 44/34 that with a little whittling fits an N frame 4 inch.

Typically well made but inexpensive holster from the 70s-80s again IIRC.

It is a Smith & Wesson branded product. Smith & Wesson acquired the Wolfram Co. in the late 1960’s and produced S&W brand holsters up into the 1980’s. The model 29 is a modified pancake design, L means lined and 34 is the size code for a 4” K frame revolver.
