Default Bianchi 100A

In the 1970s I was a police Officer and had Jordan style Revolver holsters for my Duty revolver. Since we did not have Department rules against a semi auto pistol I went with a Model 39-2 and a normal concealment holster but since I wanted to carry it in uniform I wanted a Jordan type holster. I saw this Bianchi model 100A for a 45 1911. I tried my model 39-2 and it fit so I bought it. I had seen that some of the Practical Shooters were getting good speed times drawing from forward tilted holsters. I thought that my Uniform Holster was great. I used it for several months until a new Chief Of Police brought Department Standards of Only Modern .38 Special or .357 Mag. Revolvers 4" t0 6" with Department issued .38 Special Ammo. So it was back to my model 67 .38 Spec. and my Jorden style holster.

Gorgeous, made in the days when perfection was all that the company put out. The metal reinforcement inside the sight channel dates it well into the '70s. Before I joined the company I was so impressed by this one out of Safariland in the late '60s, that when I tackled yours it turned out very similarly. Safariland's earliest work was done by Gordon Davis, who was ahead of his time but stayed there. Image by Mariano.
