Default 686+ 3" Holster?

New to the forum and new to S&W revolvers. I have a Sheild .45 but this is my first revolver by S&W. Looking for a higher riding holster, pancake style I think, and lined. Probably won't use much for CCW but would like a holster that helps with that. Been reading old threads and having a hard time finding something just right. I am aware of Lobo, they look nice. What other suggestions can you give me?

So you have heard about Lobo Gun Leather. What more do you need to know?

Contact Mark or Matt, tell them what you are looking to accomplish, and let them take care of everything.

Best regards.

See above. Lobo made me an IWB with inner and outer hammer ears for my 3" 686, as well as 4 or 5 others including an awesome Threepersons/Sloan hybrid. The 686 holster is very well made, stable and comfortable all day. The crew are always friendly, with great communication.

An option at a very reasonable cost. Extremely stiff leather that rides close to the body. That turned lip makes for a very easy re-holster. I have a couple but here is my choice for my 686+ and 586L comp.
MD Whitefield Leather – MD Whitefield Leather Holsters

I too have a Matt Whitefield holster for a 3 inch L Frame; it's very well made, stiff leather, excellent fit and retention. I also have a Tucker and Byrd holster (purchased from Amazon) for a 3 inch Ruger GP100; it's also very well made, stiff leather, excellent fit and retention, but it also comes with the belt loops pre-stressed. The first time I put on the Tucker and Byrd holster, it felt like I had already been wearing it for weeks.

Some good recommendations here. Another vendor whose work you might check out is Simply Rugged pancake style holsters. They are well made and can be made to accomodate about anything you might have in mind.
