ANOTHER IDAHO LEATHER HOLSTER
Not too long ago I showed that black Eubanks holster that had the
kinda brown straps on it. I am still waiting for my laquer to
come so I can fix it. This is another one by Mr. Eubanks, later when
he was Idaho Leather.
It is a model 77SS
CSP
4 & 3/4
I couldn't figure out what it might fit. Single Six? A little
bigger than that.
Maybe SAA? That's what I thought.
Seller had no idea.
Only way to find out is to buy it. So I did.
Lo and behold, it fits the Model 10 with 4" barrel better
than anything else that I have, but with the 4 & 3/4 marking
I don't think the Model 10 is right either.
It came earlier today. Obviously came from a smoker so I
gave it a bath in warm water and Dawn dishwasher soap.
Dried it, and touched it up a bit.
Shown below. Front view on the left. Back view 2nd from left.
3rd wiith Model 10. It looks black, but actually it is a very dark
brown.
Anybody know fur sure what it was made for?

I would guess with the 4 3/4 marking that the SAA would be correct. Do you have one of those to try? How did the bath work with the smell?

1. Nope. SAA don't fit.
2. The bath helped but it still has some smoke smell.

That is a good guess John. The CSP makes sense, and I would
imagine the Scout is a little smaller than the .45 Peacemaker.

I've been reading about the Colt Scout Peacemaker, and I believe you
nailed it John. Thank you. I guess now I will have to go find one.

Crazyphil, here is an earlier Eubanks holster marked 87 CS 4 3/4 on the back. It was made for a .22 cal. Colt Scout but works perfectly with my 4.4" Peacemaker .22. The Colt .22 Peacemakers were introduced in 1970, and were the same size as the earlier Scouts. I would assume that the maker simply changed the marking to reflect the fact that the holster fit the old and new model .22 Colt single actions.
As others have suggested, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to seek out and acquire a Colt .22 to fit it. You'll thank us for it.

Thanks Walter. I have read that some of those early Colt .22s came out
with adjustable rear sight, which could make a difference in the holster fit.
I'll waltz around the next gun show and see what I can find.
