Found a S&W holster today at my local shop, any idea on age or value ?? ))UPDATE((
Looking at my favorite shop today I came across a brown S&W holster . In the back it is marked with the S&W crest and the numbers 22 38. It is really good shape, brown leather with a basket weave type tooling. My 681 fit perfectly in it.
Any ideas ?

Holster number 22 was the lined version of the Sportsman number 20, and size 38 is for an 8 3/8" K frame. Does it seem way too long for your 681 ? I would think a bit snug too for the larger L frame.

It fit the 681 perfectly.
Looked just like this with a basketweave pattern on it. Didn't take any pics of it while I was there. In roughly the same shape as well.

I wondered what it was. I can only carry concealed here, and that holster rides pretty low to conceal a 4 inch K or L frame,so not sure I'd ever use it. I'm sure it will still be there as he said he's had it for quite awhile.

So I went back to the local shop and it was still there. It looked lonely so I brought it home.

Far better than the ones made closer to the handover to G&G (including the early G&G).

Thanks Red ! From the shape of it and the smell I wouldn't think this was used much. In really good shape, stitching is all clean, no frays. He didn't want much for it so it now has a good home.
