Default Berry compliant?

Hi Folks,
I'm looking at a Safariland double mag holder and one of their options is " Berry or non-Berry compliant ".
Is this a LEO term? If so, how does it apply to mag carriers?
Thanks for any info for this dummy...

I Googled Berry compliant just for the fun of it and found a ton of
information. It seems that if the mag carriers are being acquired
with your own funds it should not be an issue. I get the impression
that Berry Compliant has to do with the manufacture of products
that are purchased by public funds. For instance, if the mag carriers
were being purchased for a law enforcement agency the compliance
would be an issue.

Thanks! That makes sense and I should have done that myself.

Safariland and Bianchi moved much of their production/assembly to Mexico. The designation just means that the Berry compliant pouches are US-made from US components.

Who's Berry?
Nevermind. I went back and read that law, or at least tried to.
How does our gov. operate when the law is that lengthy and convoluted just for that?

It's written by lawyers, for lawyers so that you have to pay them to tell you what it means. Part of the Lawyers Benevolent and Protective Association plot to ensure we can't do anything without them. If it's a law, you're stuck with whatever interpretation they come up with.

With apologies to Attorneys who are members of this board, who doubtless don't stoop to such behavior.

Crazyphil is once again 'kinda right'. This link tells us it applies to products made of fabrics, etc. So, at least at this reading, not of leather:

Are You Berry Compliant?

There are similar treatments of products made of fabrics, in the tariff code. Made of leather gets one treatment, of fabric another, of plastics another; those, at least, come from the fabrics being dominated by overseas operations including the Chinese.

On the other hand, if one dug deep enough we could discover that Phil was completely right! This particular link suggests Berry is limited.
