Here’s my dad’s duty rig. Throughout his entire career, my dad carried his 6” Official Police in this Bucheimer Patrolman holster.

Victory expert Ordnanceguy identified that as a Defense Acceptance Stamp, unusual to find it ink stamped in a holster. Most russet or brown US military leather was dyed black after 1956,
making that a very unusual holster. MRT indicates Mildew Resistance Treatment.

A pair of Colorado Saddlery K frame holsters. The one on the left I acquired from forum member Turnerriver a few years back, the one on the right I found on Ebay.

Very nice, and to me, the floral carving on both looks alike.

That carved and laced Hunter 1300 is beautiful SAFireman.
I've been collecting carved Hunter 1300s but not come across
a laced one yet. I know they offered lacing as an option, because
I have a plain 1100 with the lacing. Some think the Hunters are
embossed, but the are really carved. One of their carvers, J. L.
Bianco worked for both Colorado Saddlery and Hunter for 40
years. Back then they didn't call it carving. They called it
engraving, and the artist was an engraver. Here is my laced
Hunter 1100 with a little Charter Undercover on board.

crazyphil, I am a little confused. My holster says 3100 on the back, and not 1300. Is it a different style or did you happen to reverse the first 2 numbers (13,31)? Thanks.

Of course 3100 is the correct style. I just wanted to see if you were paying
attention. That's as good an excuse as I can think of right off hand.

As if I needed any more holsters - I found 5 more that became mine for reasonable money. I really like the Safariland #7 Shoulder Holster and had to pick up this one for a Colt Commander size 1911.

This old Bauer Bros H3 looked great for its age but of course it was for a 1911A1 and did not like the high front sight on my SR1911.

A Safariland model 29 for a S&W MD/FR in basket weave I had to get even though it was for a Left Hander. Always something good in case your Right hand gets hurt.

The next one was a LONGHORN model 52 56 and since it looked good and I did not have that brand I took it. I assumed it would be a S&W K 6" but I was wrong. The hold down strap was in the wrong place. It looked like a revolver holster. after a while I figured it out.

The last was a S&W model 23 size 63 Shoulder holster that had not even been set up. The straps had never been tied together with the rawhide laces.

OK, I guess I'll chime in. Before I retired a few years ago, many times at my lunch hour I would swing by the local Police Supply Company & just browse around. I knew ever everyone these, so I was like family. Every single trip by U made a point to dig through the 'holster junk box's at the rear of the store. You simply can't imagine the treasures I pulled out of it !! From an old, circa 1914 Audley rig for an M1911, to NYPD mk'd Jay Pee Duty rigs, old military holsters, New mag holders, etc, etc. I was a bit apprehensive initially about looking in the junk box, especially since I was in uniform, but I quickly got over that after my first really nice find !! I'd take an old German or Italian WW1 / WW2 holster up to the counter, & the guy would say, ahhh give me $3, or $5 & the like !! WOW how I miss those days !!WOW

I've got an M3 military holster, an original Enger-Kress, given to me by my stepdad. He used it in WWII and carried a 1903 Colt in it. The straps have some minor cracking, but are still solid, I sometimes use it when carrying my 1911 outdoors, as it doesn't get in the way like a waistband holster sometimes does.

Hope I didn't post this already but don't think so. I found this holster flattened out on the bottom of a gun store holster box covered by old Hunters, vinyl holsters, and rifle slings. A rare uncatalogued Berns-Martin IWB holster. It just looked interesting and I was stunned to see the maker stamp. These pictures taken for it's appearance in the already classic book "Holstery".
