BUCHEIMER HOLSTERS
Red's thread inspired me, this morning, to start a thread showing
some Bucheimer holsters. Here are a few of mine left to right:
The Concealer with my 1911 Colt Gold Cup
The Patrolman with my Model 67 Combat Masterpiece
The Hank Sloan with my Model 67 again
The Sheriff model with my Charter Undercover
The Buscadero holster with 7.5" SAA replica
Now, how about showing some of your Bucheimers?

This one is not a Bucheimer. It's a Lewis. There is some relationship
to Bucheimer, but I'm not sure what that relationship is. But I bet that
John or Red knows?
It is shown with my Model 10 with 2" barrel.
On the back it says:
MADE BY
LEWIS-L.A.CAL.
For F.M PITT
SAN GABRIEL, CAL.

I expect that the relationship is Lewis to Clark, then the latter became Bucheimer-Clark that led to its own version. The Lewis and the Clark are perhaps impossible to tell apart from the front side and they have the too-short spring in common. To the point where I wonder if they were really different companies because I've not ever found Ed. Lewis himself (as he is proclaimed on a Lewis ad I located) and they were within walking distance of each other in L.A. So it seems that the Clark son, Earl, made the change to increase the spring length for Bucheimer-Clark and so readily identified from the other two without seeing the backside. After B-C was closed down end of the '70s he went to work for Neale at Safariland and this was the result by 1983:
1983 (1).jpg
Note the spring style and its insertion from 'behind' the revolver that is typical of the Clark. Also seen in the company's shoulder holster and in B-C's, too, which was used in the original Dirty Harry films.
shoulder (7).jpg the Safariland is also cut down by an enterprising online chap, to replicate a blaster holster from the Star Wars film series; so, he/she buys the original Safarilands and cuts them down until they are crossdraws again. Gets big money for them, too.
buch clark mariano (1).jpg the Bucheimer-Clark design originated with Clark himself who died in the 1940s. Then the company became a subsidiary of J.M. Bucheimer under G. Richard Bucheimer who was about Earl's age, too; then I expect a prop master placed a suitable size on Clint Eastwood for the film.

Notice in my two photos above the spring in the Buchheimer-Clark Sheriff
model goes all the way up to top of cylinder. While the spring in the Lewis
only goes about half-way up the cylinder.

Don’t forget that E.E. Clark was the holder of one of the two patent numbers stamped on the early Berns-Martin holsters. He was putting springs in holsters at least as far back as 1931. John Berns held the other patent.

Tsk tsk. Bucheimer-Clark not Bucheimer. What's the line in Holstory - collectors confuse them at their peril. Different founders, different products, different Coasts, different closing years. And now we know there originally was a Buchheimer!

Don't feel bad, I had to go back and correct a date in my 'Buchheimer' post; it was not a little wrong, it was VERY wrong if you remember your Big Bang Theory episodes.
Lewis:
lewis w pocket (10).jpg
Clark:
1 mark.jpg
Bucheimer:
3 frederick (2).JPG Best known; they used many logos.
Bucheimer-Clark:
bucheimer clark (36).jpg
The last two are not only so similar to each other as to cause confusion among collectors, but the word "Clark" is well divorced from the word "Bucheimer" that is at the top of the logo.

The point is the same but the movie with the Safariland holster is Blade Runner.
This early Clark ad with the short spring probably came from John, and then my Bucheimer Hank Sloan as seen in "The Book."

Very good, I am 'kinda right'. Which reminds of Big Bang Theory:
Amy: "That would be my boyfriend; happier playing his dopey Star Trek game with his friends instead of hanging out with me."
Penny: "Wars."
Amy: "What?"
Penny: "Star Wars. They get all cranky when you mix the two up.
Amy: "What's the difference?"
Penny: "There is absolutely no difference!"

Bucheimer Concealers
My 4" heavy barreled M10s and M64 carry so comfortably high and tight in the Concealer I bid on another nice C-14 yesterday for $19.99(only bidder) and won. Got one for a snub last year but now need a gun to fit it.

My first encounter into the world of BUCHEIMER was the FEDERAL MAN. As a new part time town police officer in the early 1960s I started carrying my Colt 357 6" on my left hip in my Hunter #56 Spring holster. A 12 year old boy made a grab for the gun so I immediately switched sides. I then ordered a BUCHEIMER FEDERAL MAN holster (long gone). The Federal Man was a very good holster. I do have an example for a 4" M&P.
I bought a S&W model 36 with 3" barrel and found that it would fit in a BUCHEIMER SEMI-SHOULDER B1025 holster. I knew several guys that thought this was a great holster. so I got my second Bucheimer
but soon removed the snap on plate and moved the holster to my right hip.
Over the years other Bucheimer holsters have found their way to my home such as this B845 W basket weave Frederick MD holster holding a modified S&W model 67. and this B32-13 SHERIFF by Bucheimer Clark in L A CALIF with a 3" model 49 S&W.

In spite of the new type holsters Bucheimer made they still made holsters like the Hunter line. The Perfect Fit line is a good example. While this B692 with built in rear sight protector was designed for a COLT 357 6" it works perfectly with a S&W K Target.
While I cannot read the size number this Perfect Fit holster is a perfect fit for this pre war S&W 32 4"
Numerous manufacturers made spring opening shoulder holsters so this BUCHEIMER #520 holster is their contribution.

BC-14RU Concealer arrived today
I now have a Concealer for each of my two M10s and M64. They're found so cheaply $10-30, if you're patient, there was no reason not to get one for each. The one(BC-14RU) that arrived today is slightly different from the two I had already. The leather is considerably thicker and stiffer than the other two. I'm guessing BC is black concealer, R for right hand but don't know what the U denotes. The basket weave Concealer previously posted is stamped 01 004 14W which should be holster-4 inch-Kframe basket weave and has a thickness somewhere in between the two. I didn't realize there were so many variations of Concealers for K frames.

My Bucheimer #74 concealer works well with my S&W Pro Series 1911 3" but is probably made for the commander length Colt 1911.
I also have a BUCHEIMER - CLARK L. A. CALIF. 37A-11 F B I

The Rebel Model 98 shown on the left is by Bucheimer-Clark.
The Federal Man Model 570 on the right is by Bucheimer.
Both are shown with my Peacemaker replica.
The Federal Man has the retention strap and a higher ride.
