SD Myres and Model 66 At The Range
Gents:
A while back Turnerriver and I were shooting out at the range in the swamp. During a break in the action we set up some new targets. While standing in the shade I took off my rig and kept an eye on Turnerriver to make sure he was doing a good job with the targets re-set. Of course, it's hands off guns when the range is cold.
As Turnerriver was finishing up I took a pic of the rig. I ran across that pic again today while clearing some stuff on my phone and thought I would post it today.
That is my shooter Model 66-2 resting very comfortably in an SD Myres basketweave, lined holster. I don't remember where I got it or when, but it has served me well for some years now, as has the stainless Combat Magnum.
One has to work very hard to compete with Turnerriver on nice gunleather at the range. It's always a losing proposition for me, but having the chance to be outside in beautiful weather, shooting a favorite Smith, with an old pal.....now that's its own reward.

Waiting for someone, probably under the age of 30, to become apoplectic over the exposed trigger. That S.D. Myers holster is the perfect holster for that revolver.

I like it!
And John is a fun guy, but I just can't compete with his holster collection.....but I try
Here is another basket weave Myres with an early 66
It is fairly plain, but very well made. Mine is unlined, but the SS guns don't mind one bit.

It looks like I had a basketweave rig that day as well. Charlie is right, a day in the woods shooting with an old friend is pretty fine, even if I had to do all the work while he supervised.
Regards,
turnerriver
