Default Holster Identification Please

I was hoping someone could identify the maker of this holster. It fits a 2” Model 10 Smith perfectly. I found it in a box of dad’s miscellaneous gun stuff when he passed. The only marking I can find is the number 1025 on the back. Thanks. Keith

Like your holster, the answer is in two parts :-).

First part: the holster itself is by J.M. Bucheimer and is called a 'semi-shoulder holster'. It was a 'thing' in the 1960s.

Second part: missing is the paddle that attaches to the backside. Assembled it looks like this:

Separately the set looks like this:

I have seen the paddle alone for sale on an auction site (having had to tell the seller what it is) and it appears from time to time in my routine search there for vintage holsters; but I'm unable to find it now to PM the info to you. Perhaps I'll remember your quest if/when I see it again :-).

There were many makers of this style and I wouldn't expect their paddles to interchange (tho it's possible) so likely you'll want to be on the lookout for a piece from a J.M. Bucheimer only.

I have seen the semi-shoulder holster in pictures and it always seemed like it would flop over when you wear it. Do they actually stay up?

I've never been able to get them to work with anything heavier than a Chiefs Special, but back in the old days, the plainclothes coppers used the K-frame versions all the time. They must've been more clever than me back then.

I soon took the paddle off mine that I had gotten for my 3" Chief Special and wore the holster alone on my strong side. I had a friend who wore a short barrel Colt Python in his.
