Default Lobo..

Lobo offset holster for carrying my 642 w/CT grips AWIB, very comfortable holster, was worth the two month wait.
See more Lobo's in my future.

I am glad to see this! There is a story about that holster design.

For several years my brain toyed with ideas for a IWB-style holster with belt clip offset away from the bulk of the handgun in order to minimize the bulk and profile while also avoiding some of the usual problems (like snagging on clothing, tearing up upholstered chairs and car seats, etc). I started tinkering with the basic design, producing (and rejecting) several prototype versions between about 2008 and 2010. When I finally achieved what I was trying for I immediately recognized that the commonly available belt clips were inadequate (need for strength, rigidity, and sized to firmly attach to the belt with some trouser waistband included). Another feature I wanted was the ability to change out the belt clip if it became damaged, rather than having to replace the holster (not unusual with some belt clip designs).

I contacted a clip manufacturer and made a deal for production of a thousand clips to my specifications (heavy duty spring steel, size, attachment method, etc), and sent a deposit against the order. The quoted production date came and went, then a second promise was not kept. Finally, the manufacturer stopped responding to emails and phone calls. Never got my clips, never received a refund.

The Offset Belt Clip IWB stayed on the back burner for a year or so, then I found another clip supplier willing to provide what I wanted. Within a couple of months prototypes were completed for several small to medium revolvers and semi-autos, and those went out to several experienced users for evaluation and feedback. That resulted in a few improvements. Then I offered this design on my website and it quickly became one of my most popular designs (thankfully, because by that time I had many hours and a few thousand bucks tied up in the concept).

I offered these in both cowhide and horsehide, and an option for rough-out (smooth leather against the handgun for finish protection, rough leather against the clothing for greater stability).

I am happy that the current owners of Lobo Gun Leather continue offering this design. Not all of my ideas worked out over the years, but this is one that did very well!

OK, not everyone is a history buff, and my bragging is probably boring to some.

Best regards.

One of my favorite holsters. I have an earlier model where the belt clip isn't as wide. The newer ones with the wider clip look much better to me and I imagine function better. May have to put in an order.

I have horsehide for all my J's, 1 7/8, 2 1/8 & 3" & a 3" K Frame. Love them!

I can blouse my shirt around them and use them with a tucked in shirt too.

Is there any sweat shield on that one? (Above the belt, I mean.)

It can be ordered that way, I have some of each, but I like the "sweat shield", read as "thumb piece cover".

not braggin at all, just a great story of the work you put into this exceptionally well designed holster. I've got a shoebox full of J-frame holsters, this one is easily the most comfortable,
can wear it all day and forget it there.
Well done!
