Default What holster for my early model 57

I’m really starting to appreciate the vintage holsters and would like to buy one to go with my early model 57s(64 and 65).I’m not sure about the makers and time periods they made them. What makers and models were most popular in the early 60s? Thanks

Had a Model 58 myself about that time. There weren't many makers of stature at that point because the oldies were closing and the newbies were just arriving.

Forming right at that point were Bianchi and Seventrees.

Established already were Wolfram, Lawrence, Myres, Safety Speed, Andy Anderson, J.M. Bucheimer and Bucheimer-Clark, Lewis, Hunter, Hume and Hoyt, Bohlin, Colorado Saddlery, and Colt's.

Leaving were Brauer, Ojala, Heiser, Berns-Martin, and Gaylord.

'Not quite yet' were Shoemaker, Safariland and S&W Leather,

'70s were Sparks, Baker, Jackass, the modern El Paso Saddlery,

'80s was Galco, Gould & Goodrich, and B. Nelson.

I'm being quite literal, going either side of 1965. No one will notice if you choose from the 'not quite yet' side because no one else but you will know when they were founded. They 'might' catch you out on anything later :-).

Lawrence was a quality maker still going strong, so was S.D. Myres in Texas. Heiser was waning, they made it as a going concern until the mid 1960’s. Here are a couple examples of vintage holsters for the N frame.

Lawrence rig.

Lawrence flap holster for a 4” model 29 or 57.

Myres holster for a 6 1/2” model 29.

My 8 3/8” model 57 in a Myres holster.

Heiser holster for a 5” model 27.

Really liking the myres. Especially the 8 and 3/8ths, but that Heiser is drop dead beautiful
